This light house tour is well worth the time it takes and very informative. The grounds are well maintained along with the facilities, its obvious someone is taking their job seriously and taking care of the surrounding area as well as the buildings.

Rented a golf cart for the day, picked up outside of the cruise ship terminal. Went to lighthouse first as on far end of island, then would work our way back to see other sites. Entry only $3, and can use entrance fee for $1 off drink at bar. Nice views of the north end the island, and reading about the history of the lighthouse around the grounds. Nice to have a drink and enjoy the view. Very friendly staff. Also, lots of donkeys around the parking lot. Can feed them, or get your picture with them. Very docile. Recommend for those wanting to explore the island, or to visit initially and go to one of the beaches.

If you have some spare time, this is worth a visit and a refreshment. Enjoyed reading about all the history as well as the views. The little bar offered drinks, snacks and food. I think it may have been the only “attraction” open on New Year’s Day on Grand Turk, and for that we were grateful!

We came up to the lighthouse just before sunset. Everything was closed, but it was such a beautiful view. There are a couple potcakes living up there that were so happy to greet us, sweetest boys...if you are there and see them give them some love and a treat!

This is a must-see while in Grand Turk! Picturesque and scenic, the Lighthouse offers a wealth of information in an atmosphere that is serene and tranquil. I highly recommend getting a treat from the Lazy Donkey while visiting. The conch fritters are outstanding!

Rented a golf cart, found ourselves at the light house. They have a cute little bar there and BBQ you can purchase. Costs $3 to get in. Not much to look at but the beach view/cliff view is great for pictures.

The lighthouse itself is cool to see, but unfortunately we could not go inside. There are signs posted throughout the grounds with some good history info and the views from the top of the cliffs are quite expansive. Unfortunately, the zipline obstructed the views a bit and the way they've done the grounds is super tacky and ruins what could have been a great natural area to enjoy. But definitely worth a quick stop just to take in the place for its history and enjoy the views.

A local tipped us off that the lighthouse grounds are a great place to see the sunset and they were right. Lighthouse is at the northern end of the island, on a high ridge overlooking the Atlantic. Great views of the water but you cannot access the water from this end of the island. Excellent bird watching. Some placards around the grounds describing the history. No fee to enter because zip line/bar/gift shop/restrooms mentioned in earlier reviews are all abandoned. A few donkeys around but they’re everywhere on the island. Lighthouse is functioning but you cannot go inside it. Worth a visit if you want to see the water from the cliff, are really into lighthouses, or are on the island at sunset. Nothing for kids to see or do except visit with the donkeys that might be roaming around.
You’ll pass Ridges Cafe on the way to the lighthouse which is a great restaurant with fantastic homemade ice cream. You can see the cruise ships in port from the cafe, which gives perspective of how big the ship is relative to the island.

The roads to get there could have been better marked. Went there by golf cart which is the best way to see things at your own pace. Wild donkey ate my husband’s water bottle while we were touring the lighthouse 😂

Really not much to see here, but if on a golf cart, just go, it's worth the view. The history of all the ship wrecks adds a great twist to the area.

Can visitors get in side the lighthouse?

I dont think you can go inside the lighthouse. At least we did not see any opportunity to when we were there in January.
Hi-
About renting golf carts in Grand Turk. We are heading there in February and wanted to ask you how to get a hold of Omar from grand Turk adventures. Also- how was it getting around with a golf cart? I was thinking of stopping at Governour Beach and Pillory Beach and Lighthouse. We are in port from 12-6
Thank you in advance! I do appreciate it!

As far as Omar / Grand Turk Adventures, I have no personal experience, but a quick internet check came up with very mixed experiences.
That said, a golf cart is a great way to get around this small island. Easy to do in just a couple hours, going north from the cruise port up to the lighthouse won't even take an hour. Easy. Remember to drive on the left. Watch for wild horses and donkeys. They are everywhere. Plenty of time in your itinerary to see the sights. Bohio Resort is a hidden gem with a beautiful beach and is a great place to stop for a snorkel, a swim, a bite to eat or a passion fruit margarita. Enjoy.

We are planning on renting a scooter or golf cart and tour the island and visit the lighthouse. Do you know how much the zipline is, if you don't book through a cruise ship?

Rent the golf cart, you can see the island in a day.
You can not even see the inside of the lighthouse.
The donkeys at that end of the island a cool.
As a couple people have said the zip line is nothing more than telephone pole to telephone pole, I would feel like I got ripped off if I was counting on a zip line experience.....

Do you remember how much the golf car was?

I only saw golf cart rentals at the port for around $35.00. I do not know if that was only half a day.

Would this be easy to walk to from the Carnival Cruise line port?

No, it is not walkable. You can rent a car on the island and pick it up just outside the ship terminal gates, or hire a driver. We rented golf carts. Car rental is less expensive.

Hello, I was hoping to check out the lighthouse in April. Maybe the lighthouse doesn't look as good as it used to, but is the view still good?
Since we have not been to Grand Turk and we do no snorkling, what would you advise that we see/do, that wouldn't be to expensive?
