We set off from the Blue Water Inn in a glass-bottomed boat past Goat Island towards Little Tobago. Our captain was Troy. Once on the island, we had a short hike to the ridge of the island with a view of the open sea and a colony of frigate birds in the distance. The tour was accompanied by a guide who explained a lot about the fauna and flora of the island. Afterwards, we were able to snorkel in the sea off the island. A fantastic excursion.

Third time visiting T&T and so glad we visited little Tobago. What a beautiful little island. We felt like we were in some untouched prehistoric paradise.
The tour guide was so knowledgeable and gave us a detailed history of the island and information about the different species of animals, especially the birds and the plant life.

A must for birders. Excellent guided trip to come out the forest meters from Red-billed Tropic Birds, Frigate Birds and different species of Boobies. The guide was great! If you are a birder, go on the afternoon trip.

If you can only do 1 tour while in Tobago do this one and contact frank t tours. They were very knowledgeable and truly love the island and its inhabitants. Lots of birds to see but if you are not into birds it's a spectacular view... And the reef is amazing for snorkeling.

Loved our ride, seeing the area where the Caribbean and Atlantic meet, Goat Island, and snorkeling! It was really hot, but the walk to the overlook wasn't too bad. We watched fishermen, birds flying, and a couple of insurance lizards (Gecko) . The use of bamboo for bird feeders is smart and eco-friendly. If you are in this area, it's worth a trip. We didn't book ahead, but luckily it was a nice day, and we went with Jackie's Fear Not. (on the beach at Speyside, near the school)

We visited Little Tobago with Troy of Top Rankin from Blue Waters' jetty. After an interesting boat ride with closeup views of frigate birds, we landed and Randy took us up to the viewpoint overlooking the nesting boobies (2 species and their morphs) and tropic birds. He gave a good description and found the different morphs for us in the scope. Watching the frigate bird tactics was also an eye-opener. The highlight of the trip down was a miniature gecko who looked nothing until you took a picture and zoomed it up.
All in all an excellent trip with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide.

We used Frank’s from Blue Waters Inn pier for a birding tour of Little Tobago Island. The short ride over was rough but okay, the guide gave a presentation on the island, fauna and flora. It’s quite a climb to the top (and no other options for walking) and would be ill advised unless you’re reasonably fit and have good waking shoes. The view from the top is hundreds of Red-billed Tropicbirds returning to nest and being harassed by Magnificent Frigatebirds who try to steal their food. The view and show are also magnificent.

I wanted to visit Little Tobago on our holiday, so I contacted Top Ranking the night before to book onto the snorkelling and bird watching tour. They were very responsive and got back to me within the hour. We booked on and met them at the Blue Waters Inn the following day.
The tour was great! We had a tour guide on the island who found us lots of different bird species. And we also saw some other creatures, like the bats and the lizards on the island.
There were six of us on the tour. Three wanted to snorkel, and three preferred to stay on the island and see the birds for longer, so they split us into two groups towards the end of the trip. We had 30 minutes snorkelling while they stayed on the island.
I was sceptical about the snorkelling because of previous reviews I had read, however there was lots of different fish. The water is deep and the fish are all quite a lot deeper than you are, but we all still thought it was great. The current is quite strong there so I had a life jacket, however my boyfriend was fine without one.
It was a great tour of the island, and great value for money. I would definitely recommend a visit to Little Tobago if you’re on the island, it’s worth the long drive!

The title says it all. Our guide was knowledgeable and showed us all the sights but seemed to talk as if reading a script at times. The snorkeling was done in an area with strong currents, a couple of our party were nearly swept away. The coral appeared dead and there were few fish - amongst the worst snorkeling areas we have come across.

Can someone tell me what in Tarnation is number 11 photo? The guy is holding something that looks like a purple octopus? Or a coral? Or a plant? It's killing me not to know what this is!!!!

Could someone please provide a little more detail as to what the day includes? We are going with Peter Cox next week....

There are options for what you can do on the island, mostly people climb to the top and watch the frigate and tropic birds. Side trails, picnic, snorkel, ....
You should probably check with your guide as to what they’re including in your visit. Enjoy!!

We went with Peter Cox tours and he arranged the boat to Little Tobago. You may also try contacting one of the hotels in Speyside.

Hi how do I get to little Tobago and how much does it cost

Peter Cox arranged the boat ride over on a glass bottom boat - they would have let us snorkel but the sea was too rough. You may be able to book directly but I never looked into that. Total boat and guided tour was about $50 each but that was a discount because there were 8 of us. Hope this helps.
