A pretty cool and unique place to visit

I went to the tar lake during the dry season, and it still was a beautiful sight. It's something rare that most people may not ever experience. I enjoyed it.

The Pitch Lake is a strange phenomenon that anyone who's near should visit. It's hard to describe what you see, but worth a trip! Note! Pay attention to where you park your car. Nearest to the road is the official car prm where official tourgides will lead you through the area. Just a few yards further down the road is... More

Very interesting feature that we have in Trinidad. It a secluded gem where you have first hand contact with the pitch used for paving roads. Very informative if you have a tour guide.

Found ourselves with a free day in Trinidad after yet another day of the cricket test we were there for got called off because of a damp outfield despite it being a sunny day. We were in Port of Spain without a car and not really feeling like renting one. The previous day, we had used Nanan's tours to visit... More

Went here first 20 years ago when it was a secluded tourist trap. Now it boasts a visitor center with licensed knowledgable guides for 5 USD a head. Tour lasts 45 minutes.

Long drive from Port of Spain but it was worth it to see the famous Pitch Lakes of T&T. The admission was only $ 6 US for a hour. It was a really interesting and intriguing visit.

We drove around amongst road construction for 30 minutes only to find out the visitors center was closed. Talked to some locals who turned out to be guides. The guided tour was really interesting, with loads of background, facts and figures, but was expensive by Trinidad's norms (US$25 per person).

Anyone intrigued by nature should visit here. It's quite a drive from port of Spain but worth it! Very cheap for a guided tour. Beware of locals by the shop trying to charge you some ridiculous amount for the tour. Other than that. Words can't really explain how excellent and breathtaking this place was
