Getting up to St. Benedict and back down is a little scary if you're afraid of heights, but once at the top the view is gorgeous

Each time I go, I feel at peace. It is very quiet and is the perfect place for meditation. You can get religious items and have them blessed. Some people bring their vehicles. There are sandwiches and other things to eat and drink. The view...More

worshipped at 515am mass awesome experience. fantastic view of the mountains and the central plains. Pax guest house is near by and tea is great but reservations are required.

The view is breathtaking and the entire site offers a lovely historic experience. Though it is primarily an RC church, all are welcomed and can enjoy the mountain breeze and panoramic views on offer.

Yes you can get there by public transport. you travel to ST augustine at the bottom of St John Rd and ther you get the mini van that will take you to the monastery for a minimal fee.
