We took a guided boat tour through the swamp and saw herons, egrets, flamingos, shorebirds and a large Cook's Tree Boa. The grand finale at dusk was watching the flocks of Scarlet Ibis flying in to roost. Spectacular!

Worth the trip just to see the scarlet ibis come in to roost. Basic facilities but the colour of the ibis is stunning.

Starting off rather slow with some 4-eyed fish, tree boa and a couple of birds this 2 hour boat trip through the Caroni swamps turned out to be an amazing show of hundreds of Red Ibis flocking in from all directions at dusk.
