    Well worth the journey
We visited here as part of a day trip organised through the Grenadine House Hotel and weren't sure what to expect as it's a bit off the beaten track, luckily we had a very knowledgeable driver in Grant Greaves who took the time to stop and point out many points of interest on the way there and then showed us round the gardens. We visited in early May and had the place to ourselves, whilst it's out of season for many of the plants there were still enough in bloom to make the visit worthwhile. Unlike the botanical gardens there are no labels to tell you the name or origin of any of the plants and you wouldn't describe it as a "show garden" it's a garden that is maintained without being manicured but we gladly spent around 1½ hours slowly making our way round seeking out plants of interest. As others have said it's a bit of a drive from Kingstown up into the hills and the roads aren't that good but we enjoyed the gardens and the journey there and back which gave us an insight into life away from Kingstown If you've got half a day to spare this place is well worth a visit

Take your own sweet time here and savor it all.
Gorgeous! The road that many previous reviewers complained about has been improved considerably. Also, I advise either going on your own or with a personal guide, rather than on a tour, so that you won’t be rushed. Through. You need time to slow down and savor the experience. There are benches here and there where you can stop and soak it all in. Timothy Vaughn is a master gardener who uses the colors, shapes and textures of tropical plants to create a work of art, a perfect balance between manicured and wilder areas as you meander through. I’ve visited many times, and see something new each visit. Enjoy!

    Fascinating lush tropical gardens
Fascinating look at various gorgeous plants and trees on a fairly short but interesting walk around these lush tropical gardens. Our guide was very good, but no audio so you would miss commentary whilst in single file down narrow paths. Our Coreas Caribbean adventures tour included a drink at the end which was very nice and cooling. Toilets available at entrance. Highly recommend.

Not open.
Information on the internet states that Montreal Gardens closes at 4:00 PM today April 21, 2022. We visited the island specifically to see the gardens. Now we are informed that they have been closed since prior to the tourist season and have not re-opened. So disappointed. Their website should be updated.

The gardens are owned and run by a botanical enthusiast - Timothy Bourne. They nestle at the head of the Mesopotamia valley with the stunning backdrop of volcanic peaks behind. The gardens are well tended in a manner sympathetic to the 'ordered jungle garden', full of interesting specimens with easily navigated walkways that are not slippery underfoot, ( so ideal for the more mature explorers - like myself)..Timothy Bourne is to put it mildly, ENTHUSIASTIC and knowledgeable, full of interesting anecdotes about the garden which he has developed from a tea plantation over the past 25 years. A wide diversity of species from an abundance of epiphytes to one or two non native specimens that he has imported to augment the natural topography .Delighted to report there are no souvenir stalls or 'tat' on sale just a pleasant garden / well kept jungle to wander through. The only drawback to the visit was that we were on an organised trip from the Azura cruise and so not enough time was allowed to the people with a strong botanical interest to explore fully. Suggest if you visit you take your own taxi so you can wander around at your leisure. Wholeheartedly recommend enduring the rather poor roads to reach this 'Gem of the Caribbean'. We would most definitely visit again.

Montreal Gardens was created approximately 25 years ago. I visited 10 years ago and had the opportunity to visit again now. It truly is spectacular to see the plant size and colors in these gardens. Make sure your camera is fully charged, you will want to photograph everything. If you have the opportunity while visiting St. Vincent it is a must to see!

Beautiful gardens that have some amazing plants. I saw the biggest poinsettia there that I’ve ever seen! Some of the garden isn’t really a garden but a walk through the rain forest. To get there you travel over some very narrow and winding roads. Some of the views are stunning. We used a tour guide to get there, I wouldn’t recommend you drive on your own.

So much beauty to see, truly a remote paradise. The owner spoke with us about his story, and the road here was full of interesting local things and views - from the smart vertical crops to the colorful villages, locals working the farms, and beautiful scenic points along the way. The gardens are very tasteful and peaceful to walk through, plus a great place to dress nice and take memorable photos.

The Montreal Gardens are located in the mountains, an hours drive from Kingstown on small and bad roads. Few people come here. Still these gardens are worth the trip. We found this green, lush, peaceful and not too pruned garden to be the highlight of our St Vincent trip. There is no guide, just walk around, sit down in the shade in the small huts and enjoy colorful flowers and the company of hummingbirds.

After an hour ride in a small bus, on roads that could be scary at moments, what a nice surprise to find Montreal Gardens at the top of the mountains….wow. The owner must be proud of the work he has done. This is impressive to see those plants in what would normally be the rain forest…just a big wow

We visited the gardens whilst on a cruise in November, and I'm so pleased we did as it was definitely the highlight of our time in St Vincent. The gardens are spectacular and we were lucky to meet the owner who took time to show us around part of the gardens himself. Entrance was only $5 each. It is a bit of a drive to get there and the roads are in need of some repair, but don't be put off as it's definitely worth the journey and the views en route are breathtaking . We picked up a taxi from the port to take us there.
