Did this hike with our family, including 2 teens, as part of a cruise ship tour. This is very strenuous, with some technical portions of the hike requiring scrambling over rocks, roots, mud. Warm and humid, but it does get cooler as you ascend. No mosquitoes, asked the guide and he said too dry and cool for them. Won't really... More

Took a tour here for a day trip in St. Kitts from the local port from a cruise. My boyfriend and I went, with a group of about 20-30 people. The tour guides drove us about 30 minutes to the location, which just looks like a mountain because the volcano has obviously not been active recently. The tropical environment is... More

We booked the hike through our cruise. The description was strenuous and they weren't kidding. Narrow parts and often slippery. The tour we booked through provided hiking sticks which were so helpful. Stunning areas along the hike - the summit is small but the view was beautiful. No area to walk around at the summit.

Got to see this amazing view from Brimstone Hill Fortress. Wish we had time to hike it and descend into the volcano as there are guided hikes available. But we had only one day from cruise ship to explore. Understand it would be a long day hike. Maybe next time. Go for it.

We wanted to go on our own pace so we found a driver (Dr. Elvis - you can ask around), and he arranged for us Kalvin - a local guy who knows every spot on the mountain. Was great. Took us close to 2 hours up (at the end we had to wait behind a cruise tour group). While up... More

Strenuous hike scrambling through a rain forest with stupendous views the top. Very helpful to have a guide: O'Neil Mulraine is a fantastic guide. You need to be fit for this; wear proper footwear (at the least, good athletic shoes) and take water and snacks. O'Neil provided us with walking sticks, very much needed on this hike.

Booked a hike to the top with a local guide. Beware this isn't an easy (or even moderate) hike.. you are hiking through gullies and climbing over rocks and tree roots, it is a very taxing physical experience. We were a group of 4 in our late 30's to our early 50's The view from the top is beautiful but... More

We booked through tourdeskstkitts at the Marriott which uses O'Neil Rainforest Tours. My wife teaches some cardio aerobics and I do some cycling so we are in decent shape. This hike is a workout but it was worth the trip IMO. Our group had 6 people which was a great size. We made it to the top in 1 hour... More

It starts as an easy hike but gets pretty slippery towards the top with serious rock hopping and rope climbing, but if you think that s hard... think twice try the ascending to the crater, that s the real challenge, highly recommended for adventurous people

I highly recommend this hike if u are in great shape..especially hiking shape. Our tour guide, O'Neil was awesome. There was 4 people in our group. It is a rugged climb and set at a good pace. Keep in mind, this climb is about elevation. So it gets very steep at time. It's one thing to be fit, but I... More
