Our cruise ship was one of several that called into Georgetown this day and the town was hectic with a happy buzz, great for the economy. The port is very close to town, just out of the wharf and across the street. Along the waterfront, the shops were a mixture of major jewelry chain shops and boutique shops, and the... More

There is so much to do here! Shopping is fabulous, restaurants like Guy Harveys, Margaritaville, Rakkams, and the Paradise offer such great Caymanian food and drinks, we always have a hard time choosing where to hang out! If you want to take an excursion bus to local beaches they are always available. Snorkeling is available right at The Paradise, with... More

We stopped here on our cruise and spent an hour or so shopping before an excursion. We were very impressed at how clean and nice everything was. We are two girls travelling together so we appreciate ports that are safe. There were some really neat shops and we found neat gifts for our kids.

Ships have to moor offshore so access is by tender. You can walk around this shopping/eating area fairly quickly. Usual tourist shops that are found in such places. Toilet facilities near the entrance. Security guard was helpful in suggesting a place for a local beer. (Cayman Cabana, left out of port gate)

Our cruise visited Georgetown twice in the two weeks we were with it. The first was on a Sunday and many shops were closed. The second was midweek and the place was vibrant and busy. It is a lovely place and there are a number of excursions that one can take to interesting parts of the island. We were scheduled... More

George Town, Grand Cayman, is unique in the Caribbean in providing no docking facilities for cruise ships at its port, but accommodating up to 6 or more large ships anchoring in its harbor. Passengers must take tenders in to shore, a process that entails waiting, discomfort and extra time for passage back and forth. Then they disembark at any one... More

This port is by tender which is well organised as there were 4 cruise ships in on the day we visited. We booked a tour online in advance with Caymen Island Tours, they are also can join their tour just outside the dock gates as well for $20usd amd met them at the meeting point on the email. Good value... More

Not a very special place. It's full of tourists coming from the cruiseships buying overpriced goods and souveniers. Only truely nice thing is the heroes square which offers a good opportunity to learn about the islands history.
