Not an intact wreck. Broken up quite a bit. The history of the wreck is interesting. A couple of bicycles among the wreckage. The story behind them is interesting but they do stand out. Lots of life. Saw a green moray, nurse shark, and grouper among other marine life. Worth another dive there.

Lots of life around the wreck, not a place to go exploring inside the ship as it's been beat up over the years. Easy dive, lots to see.

If you're looking for a traditional wreck site this probably isn't it. The ship has long since disintegrated in a storm. There is still a lot of debris to check out and the nearby formations are great.

The wreck of the Oro Verde has long since passed its appeal as a wreck dive. Now lying in pieces along Paradise Reef, the bow section impinges the reef while small, broken sections are strewn along the shallow sand. A mid-ship segment that is fairly intact has a series of port holes which are somewhat interesting to peer into. Pipes... More

Good all around wreck site to play around looking in all the cracks and crevices for fish, lobsters, and crabs. some decent corals but not an advanced site.

I love to explore shipwrecks, but the Oro Verde, as was explained to me by the locals, has been pushed around by hurricanes and tides so much that is is literally a wreck of a wreck. Most of the ship is strewn about the bottom of the ocean with very few intact visible parts to see. For some reason there... More

We spent a wonderful dive on the Oro Verde. Steve Isley from DiveTech entertained us with the story. The wreck is full of sea life. It's absolutely stunning. A definite must!

The Wreck of the Oro Verde is a smugglers boat that used to transport cannabis all over the carribean. It was deliberately sunk by the Cayman goverment after it was apprehended. According to locals, when they burned the contraband, the wind shifted, blanketing the entire island with smoke and everybody got high. The wreck is no longer recognizable as a... More

Dove here once during my trip in January 2013 and had a great time. Our guide explained ahead of the time it's not a whole ship in tact but pieces of a ship, so no disappointment there. We started from Paradise Reef, then moved to Oro Verde and back, in about an hour. A lot of reef fish, and an... More

The Oro Verde is another all time favorite!! The wreck itself is a wreck but it is teeming with sealife!!! Moray's, Angel Fish, anemones, tiny little jaw fish and blenny's, French and Gray angels that are so nosy I swear they must be part cat!! The follow you all over! An easy shallower dive with lots of bottom time --... More
