We hiked for about an hour and a half here. We basically did all the trails in that time and beyond some of them. It's a very pretty environment: lush, green, and light streaming in through the trees. I hike a lot at home and I really enjoyed this hike. The trails are narrow and filled with rocks and tree... it's possible to be spoiled by nature. so if you've hiked alaska or south america..you won't find sage mountain worth it. the summit is just a marker without a view. the scenic overlook was obscured by fog, the trail was a mud with only one fig tree as a "destination" if you've been sitting on the beach too long, however,... Something different to do in the Caribbean to shake up the usual beach routine if you feel like some activity and to see some BVI nature. The trail is relatively flat and suitable for inexperienced hikers but flip flops are not advisable! The path is predominantly in the shade and it is well trodden but be sure to drop into... More

Took this tour thru cruise ship excursion. Pick up at terminal. Nice tour thru the island, with a stop at a gorgeous beach at Cane Garden Bay. The climb up the mountain takes about an hour and 15 minutes, but is unhurried and somewhat at your own pace. No one in our group had any problem getting there, even 70... More

Rain forest with some mahogany trees and moderate hiking. Great viewing platform at the parking lot. Allow sufficient time to hike into the entrance, about half a mile from the parking area. Be sure to wear good foot wear, there can be mud, stones, etc.

This was a wonderful hike. With a great drive up the mountain. Afterwards at the bottom of the trail stop and have a rum runner or a banana smotthie

While sloshing through an extremely muddy trail (two of the three trails were closed due to mud) to see a nice view which was not necessarily better than those from Ridge Road, I asked myself why was I spending my precious vacation time here? I loaded up the car and quickly returned to our beautiful accommodations overlooking the beach. Definitely... More

Go for the hike and the beautiful views -- stay for the banana smoothie and conversation with Jim. We learned more about the island, it's culture and history while sipping our smoothies talking with Jim than we did from any book or museum. Jim is truly and treasure, and should be THE Official Ambassador for tourists to BVI.

We drove here, didn't take long to get there. We walked up a very big hill to start and then is levells off a bit. Very humid so make sure you take a bottle of water. Walk can take a few hours and there are places to sit down. If you get as far as the big fig tree, turn... More

If you are looking for a change of pace from the traditional sailing, beaching, snorkeling, etc., that Tortola has to offer, Sage Mountain may be for you. There is no fee to enter. We rented a vehicle and there are some steep inclines on the way up and not many road signs assist in finding Sage Mountain. Many of the... More
