    beautiful quiet beach
smugglers cove is out of the way but accessible. calm waters, beautiful beach, very few people, and Patricia's beach food & drinks, Patricia's is right on the beach, with chairs and umbrellas for free if you eat and drink with them. it's like having your own private chef with you on the beach.

    Favorite beach!
Our favorite beach on Tortola! Must go! Quiet and beautiful! Coral reef to snorkel around- old plaques to find and read / learn about the reef. And Patricia’s bar / food is delicious! We are there multiple days under the trees and between swimming / floating / snorkeling.

Great beach but a little hard to get to which is good !
The reason this speech is nice is because it’s a little difficult to get to. It is dirt roads, but our rental car was fine. Oh I handful of people. The beach is gorgeous. Great swimming, beautiful aqua water. Two places to eat and rent chairs, but bring cash. Repeat bring cash no credit cards accepted.

    Great beach
We visited this beach when visiting the island on a cruise. The beach was very remote and authentic. We hired a couple of sunbeds from Patricia’s bar for $24 dollars and the bar itself is great and very rustic. If you want remote beach this is a great choice just a bit of journey but well worth it.

Amazing beach with crystal clear water and Nigel’s beach bar.
Amazing beach and easy to get to from the cruise port despite what others have indicated in their reviews. Taxi drivers will come back to get you at a prearranged time. The road to get to the beach is treacherous but that also keeps it from being too crowded. There’s a reef with good snorkeling and Nigel’s beach bar is great; yes, it’s a small hut but the food and drinks are excellent and so is he. Definitely recommend.

    Not so hidden gem
I hesitated to write this review and draw more people to this fantastic place. It’s a bit off the beaten path and the roads getting to it are “rustic” even for Tortola. You will be generously rewarded with a more relaxed vibe than cane garden bay, fewer people, and some of the clearest water I’ve seen in the Caribbean. There are a few beach bar&grills here. They are Cash only so come prepared. Reasonably priced for their location and some of the best food we had while on the island.

    Hidden gem of a beach
When visiting Tortola, everyone goes to Cane Garden Bay. Smugglers Cove is a hidden gem. The road getting to it is a little rough, but every taxi driver knows where it is. There are 2 beach bars there with chairs and snorkel equipment. You can get in the water and just chill or go either left or right of the sandy area to snorkel.

Excellent luxury resort with impressive beachfront units (you are 2 steps from the unit to the beach, and then another 20 steps to the water) in addition to hillside villas. Upscale pool across the street , with a swim-up bar and a well-appointed fitness center adjoining. The views at this resort are astonishing, and Long Bay Beach has some of the clearest water and softest sand you'll find anywhere. My wife wanted to bring the bed home with us, very comfortable. The beachside deck off of our bedroom turned into an open-air veranda when pulling the fully retractable sliding glass door back. The air conditioning worked really well. The campus is very quiet, we felt at times like we were the only ones there. They have well designed cabanas on the beach right in front of the units, and they were never crowded or needed to be reserved. The onsite restaurant is excellent, beachside, and has an adjoining bar. There is another restaurant beside the resort property that is also good (great restaurants abound on Tortola if you don't mind driving the narrow roads and hills to get to them!). The cafe served up excellent lattes every morning for us, and also offered breakfast sandwiches/croissants. Two things to prepare for are 1) roosters
- which are all over the island - but they awaken on a rooster schedule, so just bring your noise machine or ear plugs and you'll be fine) and 2) rocks - they are large and just past the shoreline, so it is tricky if you have young kids who like to frolic in the waves and/or body surf, you'll have to walk down to another section that appears to be offsite in order to get to a shallow area that is friendlier on the feet. We would definitely come back, an amazingly romantic place.

Was recommended this beach as a quieter option by a policeman in the cruise terminal. Great day with options for sunbed hire and food and drink. So much nicer than Cane Garden Bay.

Drive to Smugglers is doable with rental car. The road is dirt, pock marked with various size ruts, holes, and rocks. Patience and vigilance is a must. There is a sign noting 4 dangers, two of which were steep grade into water and rip currents. I found the beach to be narrow. The thing that no one mentions is that upon entering the water, there is a stretch of (pieces of broken up) coral lining the floor of the beach for about 15 feet, making it very painful to walk on! Once you get past the coral floor, you will reach sand. However, on windy days, be careful that the waves don't throw you back onto the coral. (I actually fell due to the waves and scraped my knee.)
All in all, though, it is another beach to be experienced on Tortola.

A must visit on Tortola - beautiful beach and sea together with the famous painkiller. Will return next time when in Tortola.

Very disappointing, road to the beach is rough and not pleasant in appearance. Two beach bars, both are in poor condition, sketchy at best. Would not recommend.
