About
Centrally located on Tortola's north side, this is probably the busiest beach since its beauty is often compared to Magen's Bay on St. Thomas.

    Beautiful beach!
Beautiful beach in Tortola! We really enjoyed this area. It's very laid back, pretty and you cannot beat the setting. My only complaint would be the man trying to get you to buy crap as you enter, like his cinnamon rolls. If you could get rid of that, it'd be perfect! I want to visit a beach without being hounded to buy stuff before I even step on the sand. If you can ignore that and get past him, you'll enjoy your day!

    Tortola - Cane Garden Bay
Took the open air taxi service to Cane Garden Bay, which is $12.00 per person each way or $24.00 round trip. We were on a cruise and didn't buy the excursion on the ship. Much too expensive. There are several people that sell the service to the beach at Cane Garden Bay. They give you a wrist band to show you paid and you can return on any open taxi that is available. The beach is popular so go early. Beautiful beach clear water. We spent a few hours there and really enjoyed it. Your cost for 2 chairs and umbrellas are $20.00 extra and is well worth it.

Harrowing bus ride to the beach!
The beach and water are magnificent! The ride to get there is another story. If you are of the faint of heart you may not want to go. It was a 25 minute ride in an open air bus through windy mountain roads. One thing I was very happy about is there were no rocks to deal with in the water. Also the bus ride was $24/ person round-trip.

Home from home a lovely area and beach
Our home from home … staying for five weeks in apartment overlooking the bay. The bars and beach are great. The beach itself can be busy when the cruise ship crowds descend just like many beaches on Tortola but when it’s less busy it’s lovely.

    Lovely Beach with good facilities
Arrived at Port on a cruse ship. Walked through the shops at the port to the far side.. Just ask one of the guys there which bus to the beach. Fare is $12 each way per person and you pay for your return trip (ie no single fares). If you decide you want a taxi it would be the same cost from what they said. Buses run back to the ship every hour and there is no chance you will get left behind. Takes about 20 minutes to get there. Once there there are plenty of facilities - usual souvenir stalls, bars and plenty of food choices. Food isn't brilliant and I suggest you stick to the simpler things on the menu. Jumbo prawns I had were pretty poor for $25! Bucket of 6 beers for $20 was pretty good I thought. Lounger x2 plus table and umbrella $25... Beach itself was lovely and if you stay over to far sides you will see the pelicans diving for the fish. Snorkeling in the main bit isn't worth it.. Go the far sides if you want to snorkel. Tortola itself is a beautiful island...

Nobody Goes There Anymore, It’s Too Crowded
This used to be an amazing place. It has been sullied by the cruise ship industry. It is now covered with chairs and umbrellas. Such eyesores. Now it is over run with people all day and dead at night. Makes me think of the old saying “nobody goes there anymore, it’s too crowded “.

Gorgeous beach--easy trip from cruise port!
The views were amazing! Easy to get to via taxi from Tortola port. We only paid $12 pp for the ride there, but out friends paid round trip and had to take a specific taxi back. I recommend paying 1 way that way you can leave to go back to the ship whenever you'd like. Our taxi driver dropped us off at a spot on the beach with complimentary chairs and umbrellas. Gorgeous views! Inexpensive drinks. We walked to the end to the 400 year old distillery:) I don't know that I need to go back to the distillery again, but it was a fun walk down the beach and across the street from the lavender house. $1 for 5 rum tastes!

We sailed into this bay with a buoy mooring reserved and wondered why so few boats (3 of us) moored overnight. We soon found out - it was dangerous to get ashore! The surf hits on a rocky shore. The dinghy dock is falling apart, located in heavy surf and has large rusty bolts sticking out. The public dock was solid but also dangerous to disembark as our small boat kept sliding under the high dock edge with high swells. We could get no help from any locals to assist, there is no Marine Assist to call. We strongly advise to only visit this bay by land!!

Visited this beach and surroundings as part of a cruise excursion, beautiful sandy beach, palm trees, friendly locals and a beach front restaurant which served lovely food and a rum punch (amongst other drinks). I would definitely recommend.

Nice looking bay and beach but we visited on a day when there were a couple of cruise ships in so by the time we got there at 1030 all the beds had been taken and we had to find a patch of sand. If it hadn’t been so crowded it would be a good place - plenty of choice for drinks / food. $10 each way for a shared taxi.

The transportation to the beach from the cruise port is a scam itself. First of all, they charge you 12us$ per person per way which is probably as expensive as using an uber in a city like NYC considering the distance traveled, but no A/C Teslas here nono, modified pickup trucks to fit 25 people in the back, no seatbelts, just and barely a roof, I won’t forget to mention the fact these people drive like crazy and overall very dangerously.
To continue, right before arriving to the beach, the driver will pull over and start charging you for the ROUND TRIP (24$$ per person) why? Because “that’s the way it is” so all the helpless “gringuitos” give in and pay to get a bracelet that “guarantees” someone will take you back to the seaport in one of those hell rides. That is the way everything works after arriving to the beach, local scammers giving you poor service, charging you like in the four seasons of Hawaii and not giving a damn. Beach is beautiful but you’re better off in Mexico or someplace else where they actually want to keep improving given the fact that tourist are their source of making a living

Cane Garden Bay is a very active and popular beach with many cruise tour buses stopping here. This area offers water sports, beach bars and is filled with many tourists during the day. We stayed in this area but escaped during the day to explore other areas in the BVI.

There’s surf! There are mountains! There’s a beautiful bay full of sailboats. A wonderful visit with Captain Sam and Kenneeshaw on a Festiva Vacations charter.
