I visited here when we came to beach at Divi Beach Hotel from Cruise Port. We picked a cab/Mini Bus from the cruise port and the driver took us through the security to the Hotel where we hired two beds and unbrella for $15. Fort Amsterdam built in 1631 is located on the narrow peninsula separating Little Bay to Great... More

We caught a taxi from our resort and then hiked up to the fort and the views were breathtaking! The history of the Fort was very cool and their were pelican nesting areas.

This is a bit of a steep walk up to the fort. There are beautiful villas on the side of the walkway. The signs were informative and educational.

A great educational experience, and the view is one of the best from so high up you can see everything for miles.

There are some old remnants of the fort, and a couple old building, but if you are going there for a view of the cruise ships, it is a FAR BETTER view from the hill across Great Bay - on Montevista trail.

A bit of steep walk up the hill on the Divi Little Bay property. Read up on the history before you go because there's a great view but not a lot of information.

You need to walk up several hills to get to it, but the view was worth it. Not much of the fort is left standing.

Love getting up early in the day and walking around Ft. Amsterdam. It is a great place to see Philipsburg and the surrounding areas. It is interesting to see how this site was once used to protect the harbor.

This is the original site of Fort Amsterdam. It has been badly maintained. It is difficult to get to. You need to talk your way into the Divi Resort. (Tell them you're eating at the restaurant.) You'll need to ask for directions. Very nice view of the city once you walked up the really bad "pathway."
