About
The Yoda Guy Movie Exhibit, nestled amongst Front Street's duty free jewelry stores, is possibly the most surprising enterprise in the Caribbean. Who would expect to find Darth Vader, Pinhead from HELLRAISER and Riddley Scott's ALIEN in St Maarten? But this unprecedented showcase has that and a whole lot more. There are displays that span six decades of movie making, relics from THE TERMINATOR, MEN IN BLACK and even THE MALTISE FALCAN. There's also an incredible collection of lifecasts, the actual faces of Hollywood stars, From Bogart & Brando, though Sean Connery & Jack Nicholson to Michael Jackson, Johnny Depp & Angelina Jolle. The collection is extended to include famous historical figures too… the actual faces of Abraham Lincoln, (cast 3 months before his assassination), Benjamin Franklin and George Washington, (cast in. 1778 and 1783 respectively by french sculptor Jean Antoine Houden), and death masks of both Oliver Cromwell, (1658) and Vladimir Lenin (1924). The Exhibit is the brainchild of Hollywood creature effects wizard Nick Maley, known as "that Yoda Guy" for his contribution to the creation of Yoda for the STAR WARS sagas. If you don't know who Nick is, just google his name. He made over 50 movies, including SUPERMAN, HIGHLANDER, KRULL & LIFEFORCE, worked with Hollywood legends like Sean Connery, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Harrison Ford, (you will see them all in the exhibit), was featured in CINEMAX and HBO specials, won a place in THE GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS and was nominated for an EMMY. Nick shares his professional perspective on the making of famous movies via DVD and, if you are lucky enough to find him there, he will dedicate purchases from the Yoda Guy Shop and do photos with customers. The Shop sells signed movie memorabilia, posters, antique STAR WARS comics, behind the scene photos and storyboards… unique autographed slices of STAR WARS history that become a legacy to pass on through the family. There's also Nick's celebrated Caribbean artwork, (exhibited in galleries in 18 countries and toured the world with UNESCO. Nick and his wife Gloria have created the Yoda Guy Movie Museum Foundation, a not for profit group to oversee the Exhibit's development. Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to support the museum and visit a STAR WARS celebrity. It is recommended on all major cruise lines as a MUST SEE for art and movie fans.

Wow! You made my husband’s day, Nick!
My husband, Scott’s dream come true!! Nick is the consummate host. Warm, genuine, gracious and happy to give of his time for questions, pictures, autographs! Thank you Nick for making this a highlight of our trip! We can’t wish to give our daughter’s boyfriend his birthday present.. I enjoyed seeing the nostalgia and memorabilia from other movies and to learn more about Nick’s career and many talents. All the best, Nick. Hope to see you again. Thanks from Heather & Scott from the NC coast

    Hidden treasure of movie magic
If you love movies you will love this place. So many amazing exhibits that are the real deal. Nick was so lovely and generous with his time. 1 Street back from where the water taxis drop you off, you can't miss it. Bought an original script piece from POTC, and it got back to the UK in perfect condition following Nick's advice, thank you!!🤩

Such an amazing museum. The best one I have every visited.
I remember when I used to live in SXM that I went there so often with my brother. You are amazing! Such a nice guy. And the museum is very amazing. I recognized everything from all kinds of movies. I recommend taking a visit when you’re in Sint Maarten. The date is not accurate. I lived in SXM from 2010 till 2016. In that time I used to visit when I was near by.

The Force was with me but with Nick Maley the MOST!
Easily the most awesome experience any Star Wars fan will ever have on a vacation in paradise! Awesome for any movie fan! Can't believe I got lucky & stumbled across this place while on a trip I won at work. I was captivated by all the props & behind the scenes pieces Nick Maley has, as I was by all the actors he's worked with & films he's worked on, not the least of which the original STAR WARS trilogy films!!! I even got to purchase a piece of Star Wars film history for my personal collection, which is proudly displayed. Can't recommend this place enough for any movie fans, especially (but not limited to) Star Wars fans.

Something new for even the most die hard Star Wars fan
Absolutely a must visit for any Star Wars fan and so much more. One of a kind displays, beautiful movie props from franchise other than just Star Wars but obviously focused on the Galaxy Far, Far Away. The owner helped create so many amazing memories and I honestly couldn’t stop smiling. The tour takes from half an hour to an hour but I could have spent all day in this once in a life time exhibit!

A Pirate's Treasure of Movie Memorabilia in Philisburg
This amazing gallery of movie memorabilia will fascinate even the most casual fan, with props, puppets and costumes from dozens of sci-fi and horror flicks, from Star Wars and Men in Black to Alien and Hellraiser. The exhibit is the life work of special effects & makeup wizard Nick Maley, who helped design the original Yoda puppet for 'The Empire Strikes Back' and is in many ways is the star of the collection. Stick around after you walk through the displays to hear about his experiences working with everyone from George Lucas to Stanley Kubrick on some of the greatest movies of the last 50 years. Nick is happy to talk with visitors who pay the modest admission fee, and I could've spent hours hearing his stories. The displays themselves will take between 20 and 30 minutes to explore, and include highlights like a Carbonite Han Solo, a full-sized Alien Xenomorph, and of course, one of the original Yoda puppets. There are also original script pages from many of the movies Nick worked on during his long career, many of which can be purchased at the end of the tour. The Yoda Guy Movie Exhibit is one of the last things you'd expect to find during a St. Maarten vacation, but it will likely be one of the experiences you most remember.

What an incredible find on this tiny Caribbean island! This museum/art gallery is a must-see for Star Wars fans or anyone who is interested in movie making in general and creature creation/practical special effects and costuming specifically. It is chock full of original and replica pieces from proprietor Nick Maley's notable career in film, mostly from Star Wars but also such films as Men in Black, Krull, The Highlander, and more. For those who just find this place randomly, Nick is best known as one of the original creators of the Yoda puppet first used in The Empire Strikes Back among MANY other things.

The highlight of our visit was getting to spend some time with Nick himself and hear first-hand some of his captivating recollections of his time working on the original Star Wars trilogy. He welcomed us into the gallery and invited us to explore and ask him any questions we might have. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of movie-making and was so gracious as to spend lots of time with us personally showing us around the front of the museum which has many unique collectibles for display and also for sale. We were lucky to be there when only one other small group was there and it felt like we were getting a personalized tour. I left with a signed copy of Nick's book and two signed pieces of Star Wars memorabilia ready for framing.

The museum tour is self-directed and if you stop and watch all the videos and read all the very informative explanations posted at each display, you can probably see everything in about 90 minutes. But plan to spend at least that long here or you'll definitely miss some amazing details.

I can't recommend this place highly enough for Star Wars fans of all ages (although very small children may quickly lose interest in the static displays) as well as anyone who has even a passing interest in the magic and hard work that goes into creating the movies that mean so much to us. 10/10 would visit again and again!

Thank you, Nick & Gloria for creating and maintaining such a wonderful place. May the Force be with you, always!

My husband and I visited on a cruise to St.Marteen (April 2023) and booked the cruise just because it stopped here! We both grew up with Star Wars and our first date was on May the 4th so to say we are big SW Nerds is an understatement.
This exhibit and tour is absolutely INCREDIBLE!! We really enjoyed the whole experience so much so we will be visiting again in October on another cruise and bringing our best friend who is also obsessed with SW.
Meeting Mr.Maley was definitely a highlight of our whole trip, he took the time to chat with us and show us his projects, told us stories of his time making art work and movie props for the many other films he was involved with! He and his wife are such sweet folks and we cant wait to come visit again!

I can not express the thrill of seeing one of a kind and original memorabilia from my favorite movies. The experience is made even more authentic and memorable with getting to meet and speak with a real icon, Nick Maley. He is extremely personable and truly a joy to speak with. He answered questions and gave his personal opinions. I was able to purchase a gorgeous piece of his art work and my friend came away with a page of original script used in the filming. Mr Maley put me at ease even though I was totally star struck. Thank you sir for this amazing experience and I hope many more people come and see this great tribute to Yoda.

We had amazing time visiting The Yoda Guy Movie Exhibit in Phillipsburg Sint Maarten. We were greeted by Nick Maley himself when we walked in the door. It was an amazing experience get to meet a legend in person. He walked us through his exhibit, then let us explore on our own. He had so many original movie props and artifacts from the original Star Wars movies, along with his other projects he worked on. Nick even took the time to take a few photos with us. I will be visiting again for sure.
