It's interesting to see pieces of fallen wood being carved into modern works of art and there's a pleasant studio and shop to see less abstract pieces for sale. Nice rum punch from their bar. I can't comment on the accommodation as we weren't staying there - just having a look around - but looks like it would be a very nice location to say.

I have been to the Eudovic Studio several times and am still in awe of the magnificent work done by Vincent his son, and artisans. This takes memories of St. Lucia to a whole new level with such an artifact……. Not a trinket, magnet, photograph, print or gem, but a genuine piece of local art. The abstract carvings are incredible and I have several.
The Caribbean Islands all have forts, rum, ports, shops, restaurants, and collectibles, but there is only one EUDOVIC!

This was my first visit to the gallery and definitely not my last. I arrived late in the afternoon and the gallery was closed. However, I called and the lady opened up the gallery and gave me a tour. I was so appreciative because I love the "All In" sculpture of his son, Jallim, found in the city center in Castries. There are a variety of sculptures that focus on different themes at various price points crafted by Vincent, Jallim, and local artisans. You must visit this gem and embrace the St. Lucian art and history experience.

Visit this studio as part of a shore excursion from a cruise ship, there was only us and one other group there and we were only a group of 15 so could easily see the carving demonstration before moving onto the gallery with the finished pieces.
Not my kind of art or sculptures but I can appreciate the work that has gone into making them. They have some large pieces down to more reasonable sized ones.
There is also a small shop selling beverages.
I had plenty of time to look round and did not buy anything.
Not sure I would go back again, but if you like the art work you probably would return.

I have been to this art studio for the last 3 years by way of Holland America Line (2001, 2002, 2003). This studio is in an old builing but the art is really great. If you buy art here make sure that you call ahead to see that the artist Eudovic is in. He is a wonderful man and a super artist. Have him sign the wood art for you. His wood art goes up in value sometimes as much as 25 percent per year. With his signature and the fact that the really fine art is made from a tree that has been cut down and will never live again makes the art unique. You can pay with a credit card and this art studio is honest and will not do anything tricky with your card. The art is really great and no trip to wonderful St. Lucia is complete without owning a piece of Eudovic's signed art on the rare tree wood. I am also told by friends that you can have him ship items to you and that they have always received them.
I have spent hundreds of dollars on my credit card for art here. I am completly happy with the service and the product of the artists here.

What a brilliant place to visit and see all types of wood being carved and if your very lucky by the founder of the studio.
There are all types of wooden carving to suit everyone and vary in sizes from a few inches to over 10-12 feet. They vary in price from a few dollars to many thousand.
We were lucked to meet the owner who due to his age does not carve the lager pieces any more but talking to him was fascinating, hearing about his life and how he started carving.
There is a demonstration area with trainees showing how the carving is done.
Its well worth a visit to see the various items and feel the wood.

We visited Vincent Joseph Eudovic art studio in Saint Lucia in April 2014. I absolutely loved watching the carvings being created as we watched. We were given a brief tour of the studios and saw many beautiful pieces of art. My husband and I purchased a few pieces of art and were completely satisfied with our choices. The employees were very knowledgeable and provided interesting stories about each creation. We found that one could purchase a piece of art for $20 and up to $1000. Each piece very unique. Vincent Joseph carved his initials into each piece we purchased and allowed us to take a photo of him while he was doing so. I'm very glad that we had the opportunity to meet him and bring home pieces of his amazing creations!

If you like wood carvings, this will be a banquet to your senses. Artistic activity that you can witness, eye to eye. You can even be informed by the founder of this Studio in person, who will imprint his mark on any art that acquire. He is a senior gentleman, so hurry up so meet him personally.

we mentioned on our way to the rum distillery that we were interested in seeing something exclusive to St. Lucia that the normal cruise ship hoards wouldn't be at- Ali our driver said this would be the place- and it was - the carvings are one of a kind- there is a larger carving and a smaller room with smaller carvings- all of it is handmade and they were carving at the time we were there- but there was a tour in the room so we did not see it happening. the people who work there are really friendly and took care in wrapping our carving of a cat like it was a diamond- my goal is to return and purchase the larger cat carving- the piece we have is on our mantel and it makes us smile to see it- can't wait to return!!

reviews sound like a beautiful place!
what is the average cost of his pieces?
Written 25 February 2016
Price range as described in previous answer. Picked up a 16-inch piece I loved for $176US. They will also ship to US if you can't or don't want to carry, but shipping costs can be 50% of original price. Service is very friendly and quick.

Are the beach chairs sturdy. We are traveling there and are large folks. I want to know if we should bring a blanket or if the chairs will work?
Written 27 May 2015
They are lounge chairs which did hold me as well as several of my traveling companions we are all big folks. I didn't find them really comfortable but they also had upright sturdy plastic chairs. Honestly we didn't spend much time sitting because the water was so salty there was no effort required to float. We were in at least 30 feet of water for hours and it was wonderful.

Do you celebrate Halloween there in Dominican? What events are planned? Can we get a link to an event calendar? Any tours that you would recommend? ATV or jeep tours, parks, or zip lines? Traveling with a 24 year old and trying to keep him busy!
