Well worth a visit

This has a lovely gift shop and now has a small café. There are things of interest to see here and they sometimes put on exhibitions- they had a photography one when I visited.

The Montserrat National Trust boasts historical displays (in addition to those at the Museum), gardens on the grounds, a gift shop, and displays relevant to the island (by local artists, students, or international artists whose work depicts the island). I was privileged to experience the Montserrat Memory Project, an opportunity for locals to see themselves candidly through the lens of... More

We were looking for Montserrat souvenirs and we were directed to Nationals. The staff was very friendly and there is some history to take in. We didn't stop in the cafe but they did have several visitors. The gift shop is small and quaint. We bought some black sand for a family member but were sad that the selection of... More

We skipped the museum and did the garden. It was far larger than expected and particularly well tended. We were lucky enough to run into Pie who was refurbishing the medicinals. We have an interest so he took time to describe everything. He was great, as were the folks in the office and the gift shop. It is very inexpensive... More

Although we live on montserrat full time now, we always pop into the National trust so that any visiting friends and family can check out their seasonal displays of what's going on at the national trust, or stroll through the gardens. Then once that is done, the gift shop has a huge array of great souvenirs to look at, and... More

The trust gardens are beautiful. The gift shop is a great stop to pick up unique gifts and souvenirs. Definitely a recommended stop on the island.

We went there hoping to get information, in particular on the trails which were much advertised in the tourist literature. The trail map was $2.50, and gave minimal information on both the routes of the trails themselves and what we should expect to see on them. The ladies serving were equally uninformed and uninformative. None of them had been on... More

Lovely unusual flowers and bushes to see. If you live there you can purchase plants. Not suitable for someone with mobility problems.

Although this is not always open on the weekends, I managed to go when it was open and thoroughly enjoyed the place, where I got to see around the gardens, and even sign up to be part of their trust, which was worth the small amount it costs to help preserve the wildlife and vegetation of Montserrat. All of this,... More
