The beach name is La Chiva and is how is referred to by locals and directions signs. Is a long curved shape beach with multiple entrances that are numbered so can go back to your favorite location or coordinate with friends to meet you. Bring your food and beverage as it's farther away that Caracas beach. No cellular signal reaches... More

Great snorkeling and shady spots. Revisited a couple days later and saw even more fish/wildlife. The beach is gorgeous

I have been to beaches all over Hawaii, Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand, and the States, as well as some in Mexico and Puerto Rico - innumerable gorgeous beaches. But LaChiva (Blue Beach) is one that stole my heart! The color of the water, white sand, island in the middle of the Bahia, and snorkeling made it a most wonderful beach... More

Blue Beach is also known as La Chiva now, and is about a 3+ mile drive from the main road, 997, with the entrance just south of the sports complex now being refurbished. It is halfway between Isabella Segunda and Esperanza. The entrance road is paved about halfway to it, then it is gravel. It is past Caracas, or Red... More

Chiva is the preferred local name for this beach and it is what drew us to the island- we were not disappointed, beautiful beach with lots of secluded areas where you can have a slice of beach all to yourself

Blue beach (Las Chivas) is the most beautiful beach I have ever visited. It is a must-see on Vieques. We particularly liked spot 9 underneath the coconut tree. The water is very calm and warm here. There is also great snorkeling at the Caya across from the beach, however, you must be a good swimmer to get there. It is... More

This was a very nice beach with no rocks anywhere as you went into the beautiful blue water. It was a huge beach with lots of space for groups to spread out but there is very little shade. If you have a car with you, you can essentially drive right up to where you set camp. I hung out under... More

This is a really great beach. It was windy when we were there and a little bit choppy. There are about 20 different distinct parking spots, and parts of this beach. Our taxi driver told us #10 was the best. It was pretty darn good. The water is very shallow here. It never really got over upper leg deep.

Of all the beaches we saw, this was the best. There are many pull in places and we had one that is our favorite. I won't say which number because we want to keep it our special place -ok-14. This is worth the drive.

Our favorite beach in Vieques. The sand is silky and the waves are gentle. We usually have lots of space to ourselves.
