Private!

Love this beach, second favorite to #10. It was a quiet time (early November) and we were totally alone. Just beautiful. Buggy late afternoon but totally worth it!

Secret Beach is a beautiful, quiet beach. It does require an almost half mile walk through the jungle from the parking lot to the water. Once there, there is a lot of seaweed on the beach and some in the water, but the shallow water and beautiful colors made it worth while. There is also some snorkeling on the edges... More

This beach has great waves and the water isn't freezing..it's clean and a good place to hunt for sea glass. It's family friendly...you may notice a lot of seaweed washed up on shore and a bit in the water. Of 7 people in our group, 4 were stung by tiny hydroid jellyfish (who apparently love to cling to seaweed). Most... More

Secret Beach is also called Pata Prieta (this is the name you'll see on all the signs) though it's not exactly secret. It just feels more secluded. Like all the beaches on the Caribbean side, the water is clear blue and the sand is soft white. Very pretty.

There was a nice little walk to the sand. The Spanish name, Pata Prieta, sounds so much better. It is a pretty little cove and was all for my wife and I for a hour or so until to young couples chowed up and then it was oh so crowed:) If you go out in the water a little ways... More

Beautiful smaller beach, although not so secret: there were 5 cars/families when we visited. Nice clear blue water & fairly shallow. Caution: Playa Pata Prieta & other nearby beaches (ex: La Chiva) are connected by a network of paths in the bush/jungle behind the beach, which makes it easy for robbers to steal things right off the nice spots under... I love to run on beaches and this is great. Although my feet are tough, I still don't like stepping on pebbles or shells. As you see in the photo, this beach is very smooth and beautiful and peaceful (except on the week ends in peak season when it is quite lively.)

Place: Even the names of this beach both spanish and english are soo intriguing. I first got to say Im in love with the whole vieques experience, I think to have so many such perfectly naturally designed beaches is a miracle and on top of that having all of them in the same 'city' all of them reachable in a... My husband and I spent several hours on La Pata Prieta and we enjoyed every second. There were only four other people on the beach the whole time we were there. The water was calm, clear, and warm. I enjoyed watching the little crabs skitter across the sand and hide in their holes. We also saw several mongooses.
