A bit taller than life size statue of Christopher Columbus atop a concrete base and nice water fountain. Flanked on North and South ends buy City Hall office housing Mayor's office and by the Catholic Cathedral. The town square itself is a relaxing place with benches to sit and enjoy the shade and view of the fountain. Coffee shop right... More

A place with good access, quiet and very suitable for the whole family. It continually has artistic attractions throughout the year.

Honestly, looks like any other statue in the "new world". It's in good condition. The plaza it's in is so sketchy, I wouldn't spend too much time hanging around there.

This statue stands high in the middle of the Plaza. The fountain has color lights creating rainbows on the water when it shoots up. Beautiful!

Came across this statue on are way to Castillo San Cristobal. After spending two weeks in the Caribbean, you find out the real truth behind Christopher Columbus and what was supposedly done in the name of Christ. I personally think its a tragedy to now know the truth behind the conquests of the Caribbean. And I am quite sure, Columbus... More

This statue is set in the middle of Colon Plaza in Mayaguez. There are many statues dedicated to Christopher Columbus in Puerto Rico. The mix of marble and bronze are beautiful. As we look back on history, we find that Columbus was an unsavory character, but still responsible for the what we now know as Latin America, the good and... More
