This is a seemingly unavoidable stop if you visit Old San Juan. The free trolley stops here. Visitors probably pass through here to see other sites past Plaza de Armas. There lots of pigeons here, so the ground is littered with pigeon droppings. There is...More

So named because Spanish troops practiced military exercises there, the Plaza de Armas was established in 1521 as the city’s central square, and served mostly as a marketplace until 1851, when it was refashioned and adorned with a fountain and sculptures representing the four seasons....More

It was a nice cool day with lots of wind. We walked around and in and out of little stores. The roads to walk aren't the best but sneakers are a great idea to take. I have sandals and it hurt my feet to walk.

You can have it all in this little plaza: An ice drink or tea or a hot coffee, then sit at one of the benches and admire the people passing by or the locals playing with the pigeons or catch a singer singing or playing...More

Open square with eateries and benches to rest after all the walking around Old Town. We spent a little time here watching a local con artist and trying the local, sickeningly sweet Malta drink.

Head to this part of Old San Juan for everything you might like or need. The grocery store nearby has the best prices for food and drink including beer, wine and of course rum. Check out the Puerto Rican Drug Store as well for gifts...More

Spend an entire day here! Just come and soak up the beauty, the history, the culture! There are so many local eateries worth trying, so bring your appetite and sweet tooth. There are also lots of local favorites - Marshalls, Wendys, etc.
