We managed to walk the paseo all the way around El Morro and found ourselves at a dead end (no pun intended) outside the wall of this famous cemetery. Nothing to do but jump the wall. It was worth it. Otherwise you have to get...More

I love cemeteries and have visited them around the world. The San Juan Cemetery is one of the best, most memorable places I have visited. The gravestones are often beautifully ornate and there are many detailed statues. The location right along the edge of the...More

After visiting Morro, we headed over to San Juan Cemetery and checked out the memorials. If cemeteries interest you, this is a don't miss stop. There is something beautiful about a cemetery to me. San Juan has a lot of ornate markers, tombs and memorials....More

Beautiful tribute with a gorgeous view to the history of the families of Old San Juan...take water when hot...open to the sun without much shade.

Must see! Beautiful views of the old fortress. An unexpected surprise. The views from the top are fantastic. See my review of Old San Juan for directions.

this is really cool if you're into the old cemetary thing like I am. It would be better if you could walk through and check out the headstones for a more personal touch, but they are not in the "tourist" business

We didn't make it down into the cemetery itself as we were hiking between monuments, but you can see this spot from the road. It's a lovely resting spot and makes for some great pictures.

Such a beautiful cemetery. With such old graves. You can feel the presents of very old souls. Loved reading the tombstones

We usually make a point of visiting interesting cemeteries when we travel and this one didn't disappoint. Very unique graves and the setting is very beautiful. Made sure to be respectful while there as a burial was in progress during our visit.

Yes it is a short walk from the terminal, however when we arrived by cruise ship, there was a shuttle bus that would take you to old town and the walk is only about 5 minutes.
