We went to Sunday mass here. The day we visited there was a large celebration. A group of men had been marching from the airport through old San Juan and ended up at the cathedral. For anyone interested in old church art and architecture, this is worth the visit. Numerous alcoves to explore. A nice quiet place to sit and meditate for awhile. All the tourists were quiet & respectful when we visited so we got to enjoy the sights. Great place to spend 20 minutes or longer depending on your mood.

Very beautiful church. Open to the public most of the time, even if no Mass is given. Very peaceful atmosphere.

Stopped here on our self guided walking tour of old San Juan. While it was interesting there was not a lot to see as far as Cathedrals go.

Being the second oldest in the western hemisphere, makes it a treasure. However, it has been so neglected that is sad to see it in that condition.

An impressive showing of design & artistic talent. One really should see it if one has interest in cultural-expressions of faith.
