We went here for the afternoon when staying at El Conquistador and it really is a most relaxing place. Nice little bar (which we had to shelter in when a squall came through) and sunbeds. I thought the cost to rental jet skis was over the top but that shouldn't detract.

You don't have to stay at the hotel to get there. We went by private boat, like the locals do. It is a beautiful place to visit. White sand and pristine water. Take an umbrella since there is no shade. We also took our lunches and spend the day beside the hotel accommodations. Some boats have very loud music, but... More

A shuttle runs every twenty minutes from the conquistador bringing you to a private island paradise. The island was owned by Maureen Ohara and leased to the hotel. Wonderful addition to the hotels activities.

Love Palomino Island! And the ferry of el conquistador is Excellent, always had the 2 boat ferries working, and did not have to wait. It is only 10-15mnts drive! White sand, clean beach, Crystal water, wonderful view, love it!

The hiking around the island is pretty strenuous, but worth the views. It is not like the hotel; umbrellas and all beach items are for pay only. Beach loungers are available. Prepare to fight for shade.

Long boat ride to get from the hotel to the island. Nice beach to relax and play volleyball on. A few over priced shops and services. Overpriced food. The entire adventure to get from the hotel to the island takes much too long and is such a hassle to do twice a day.

We went in December 2015 while we stayed at El Conquistador hotel. Palomino Island is their beac and we headed out on the first ferry in the morning. The beach chairs are free. Waiters come to you veach chair to offer drinks. The beach is clean and clear. The sun hot. Bring plenty of sun screen with you. We ate... More

Relax on the plentiful beach lounge chairs. Want shade? Ask and an umbrella will be placed right where you want. Towels are available. Play on the inflatables or take the 4 person Hobie craft out (both available for rent). Volleyball nets on the beach. Jet skis. Bocce ball. Fly a kite. Soft beach sand but there are shells and rocks... More
