expert level hiking up and down a huge steep slope to get to the bottom of canyon. Definitely not what I was expecting (in a good way). Beautiful scenery and amazing blue crystal clear water with huge rocks to climb and jump off of into lake. I rained on us the whole time we were there but for a brief... More

This was a nice experience. You are in contact with the nature all the time. The green montains and the clear water at Cañon San Cristobal are beautiful. This was a great adventure, you most do it too!

One of the best places to visit! San Cristobal Canyon is really beautiful however if you are planning to visit this place there's only two ways you will find it. First, with a local tourist guide or with a friend who already knows the area. Really easy to get lost and will not recommend wondering by yourself if you are... More

My husband and I explored San Cristobal Canyon over 6 hours with professional guides from Montana Explora. The adventure was nothing short of exhilarating, and the scenery was breathtaking!! We started with a short hike into the rain forest, where we soon came to a river bed. Water levels were low, but despite, as we continued to walk, we witnessed... More

Did not hike all the way down, but saw from a scenic outpost. The canyon formations, the sheer waterfalls and the pools were breathtaking. A dry spell is needed to go down the rocky, slippery trail for average travelers. Absolutely beautiful!

First off I've known of this place for years and years however, for one reason or another, I had not made the effort to see it with my own eyes. My daughter, (I guess now is a good time to say it I'm 59, with a Total Knee Replacement and a Total Hip Replacement, and my wife is thereabouts, I... More

Accelerating experience, great scenery, extraordinary waterfalls with cool, crystal clear waters. Located between Aibonito and Barranquitas you will need and experience guide to visit this natural wonder.

For experienced hikers that want to see the canyon without having to pay for a tour group, here are some tips. Please note that the trail down to the canyon is "off the beaten path" to say the least. This should only be attempted in actual hiking shoes and pants. I would also avoid going if it has been rainy... More
