Since I was a little girl my parents would take us to Boqueron. The water is crystal clear and extremely calm, safe for kids. It is beautiful! But as I grew up, I started visiting with my friends and cousins, staying at the “poblado” and enjoying the “night life”, which is simply bar hopping, playing pool, walking around talking to... During our visit during the December holidays (2016), there was construction on the roads around the shops and restaurants near the beach, so parking was limited. Boqueron has plenty of small restaurants, including those on the water. There are limited tourist gift shops, so looking for Puerto Rico gifts to take home was limited.

So we brought a portable domino table and plenty of food, lechon, arroz con gandulez and various desserts and wine. We set up the table under a... More

In November, it has so far been stone dead. Little more people on weekends. The square and some streets under reconstruction. The streets will be coated with concrete. During high season it is probably more action. The large municipal beach looks fine.

Boqueron Beach use to be a striving beautiful beach full of life. Unfortunately we only spent about 20mins after paying $4+ to park. The surroundings, main building and walk areas were visibly in dis pair and almost seemed abandoned. The beach itself was loitered with garbage and dry seaweed. It was quite disappointing to see the condition of what was... More
