About
Hit the hottest spot west of Kingston to sip delicious cocktails and dig into some jerk chicken and fresh seafood overlooking stunning views. Book a day trip from Montego Bay to jump straight into the ocean from the 35-foot-tall cliffs within the bar or people-watch and lounge in the pool if you’re in a more laidback mood. The DJ keeps the stereo blasting to make sure everyone has an amazing time on the dance floor. Since Rick’s Cafe is close to Jamaica’s westernmost point, watching the sunset here is a truly amazing experience. Families are welcome. – Tripadvisor

    Ricks Cafe
It's Rick's. If you stay in Negril, you really don't have to go unless you wanna jump the cliffs. It's the same sunset on 7 Mile with less crowds. This is 1st visit after 5 visits to Jamaica. The party atmosphere is on point. Food is trash, not worth it

A Tourist Trap BUT STILL SO FUN!!
Honestly this place was totally touristy but still such a hoot!! The food and drinks were a little expensive but very tasty. It was definitely very loud but the DJ was very funny and we had a fun time watching the impromptu dance competition. We enjoyed watching the divers jump off the cliffs and gathered the courage to jump off the 35ft cliff ourselves! What a rush!! This scene isn't for everyone but if you're a party person or want to have just a fun touristy time, this is worth the stop.

    Experience
Definitely a party vibe, the cliff jumping is cool. We just had drinks no food. It is a definite must visit in the area. Pretty expensive given the poor menu items. THEY DO NOT CHARGE YOU TO GET IN so please do not listen to anyone else!

The island party spot with a cliff drop !
Was so fun, music, good DJ, although I didn’t have a drink or food cause the Ya Man Red Stripe Catamaran had us right, The drinks and food looked amazing. The cliff diving was the attraction! Picked up a few tshirts and enjoyed the vibe ! Will be back !

A tale of two times at same place
My review depends on the time of day. Lunch was very good - places to sit and enjoy the meal, attentive staff, and nice views. Dinner time was very different, crowded, staff was too busy to give their full attention, music was over-powering. Really meant for a much younger crowd.

    Meh….
If you want to go to participate in the cliff diving, go to the pool or drink at the bar, this is the place for you. My husband and I went during a private tour but just to see how it was and to eat since we were starving. The food was mediocre and overpriced. I would only recommend this to adventure seekers and not tourists just passing thru that don’t plan on swimming. I have it 3 stars entirely on the atmosphere. I can say I’ve been there but personally won’t be returning.

    Incredible view but........
This is a well known place that is high in energy and excitement. Cliff divers (professionals) entertain while ht bravest of souls will try to jump from the various heights into a beautiful pool of ocean. It is breathtaking. However, the restaurant serves food that is only average at best, It is overpriced but then again, I guess this is to pay for the atmosphere. I found the constant pan handling of the divers a bit bothersome. While I don't mind giving them some money for their entertainment, they keep coming back demanding more. You are not evern sure if some of the people asking for money are with the divers or simply locals asking for money. Some organization on this is needed badly as more people would contribute if they simply knew where the money was going.

    Go to Rick's Cafe
We loved our visit to Rick's Cafe. The cliffs were fun to jump off of and the DJ was great. I loved dancing here and drinking Red Stripe. I would say it is family friendly but personally wouldn't bring my kids here until they are teenagers.

Too much money for the short time spent there
Everyone said GO TO RICKS CAFE!!! But after our experience, I likely wouldn’t say the same. We had a party of 9… the transport cost was $20 a person plus tip. $123 for appetizers and water and Pepsi. And the other party’s bill was close to $200! This was afternoon appetizers. The music was so loud that we had to YELL to visit. The cliff jumping provided about 30 mins entertainment watching the professional diver. Just not worth the $500 putting from the resort for our party of 9.

Don’t get drawn by the hype - is it really for you?
I don’t get the hype here. We payed a lot of money to jump off a cliff! For families it’s not great - really loud specific type music, lots of dodgy smells and a lot of queuing and long wait times for average, overpriced food. I get it for younger groups - it would have been amazing for us, when we were in our 20’s but not now. We also only stayed 90 mins as that’s what was part of the cruise. As it turned out, we were glad but not if you love it. The catamaran cruise was good though.

Visited this bar on Market Day. Only one young man working, serving around 50 people, lots of people sat down, then got fed up with waiting, so walked off. Felt sorry for the hard working Waiter.

Great set up. Unfortunately we went at lunch times very quiet but hot with no shade or wind. Was unaware there was a pool to chill off in which would have helped. Staff in shop extremely helpful and friendly. Waitress was rude and our food ordered from the grill was cold as we weren’t advised it wouldn’t be served to us we had to go and collect it. Also beware they put seasoning on chips which is spicy without asking so had to leave them. Would imagine great vibes in the evening when buzzing and divers do their thing, worth a visit.

Disappointed with the DJ. Come to Jamaica to catch some Island vibes and subjected to pure American cRAP. Wasn't like this in the past

Amazing vibe and atmosphere, cost of alcohol a little expensive but worth it for experience. The cliff jumpers are something else!

We didn’t get a chance to go for sunset but went for lunch instead. We pretty much had the place to ourselves for the most part. Their food and drinks, while slightly overpriced, taste amazing. Best calamari I’ve had in awhile

Visited Rick's Cafe in February 2024 as we were in Jamaica celebrating a birthday.

Ricks Cafe is on the West End in Negril. It is free to go in and you are not allowed to take any food or drink in - not even water. We paid US$8 each for light beers, however as its free admission, I suppose you pay in the drinks and food price.

We arrived around 4:30pm and it was still filled with patrons. The DJ was in full flow and the in house dancers were entertaining the crowd.

There were dancing contests which brave patrons took part in.

Staff and patrons were jumping from the cliff.

It was wonderful to see the beautiful 'sunset in Negril'.

Ricks is definitely a cool chill out spot to visit if in Jamaica.

There is a place called Negril in this area you have to come to Rick´s Cafe, a place where there is a cliff where you can see the sunset, there is a bar and restaurant, they have a DJ and youn can sing and dance here, and also jump into the water form the cliff, they will take care of you in the water....It worthwhile to come here and have a great time

It's a place that you should visit once to see what's the hype is all about. It is exactly what I expected from reading all the previous reviews: great view of the ocean, DJ playing music all day (but not really loud as some suggested), the food and drink are expensive (as expected) because it is a tourist attraction so I don't get the complaints about the prices. Have a few drinks, enjoy the ocean view, listen to music and watch the drivers jump off the cliffs.
