We took a tour from our NCL cruise. Sure not what we expected. The plantation is run down, main house is nice to walk through though. Guide was very friendly and informative. We were surprised at the hap hazard way the crops are scattered, sure didn't look like a working plantation to us. You would think with all the tourist... More

Brimmer Hall itself is decaying, but in a similar way to Firefly it gives you a feeling for a different era and a different way of living and invokes a sense of sadness that it is fading. They are making efforts to improve it. The tour of the plantation itself is also pretty good and the staff are great. It's... More

I visited this plantation as part of a Royal Caribbean excursion. The interior of the house is beautiful, as are the antique furnishings. The exterior and grounds are crumbling, but it was fascinating to see nature reclaiming a relic of a bygone era. The tour of the grounds was quick (under 30 minutes) and included information on the crops still... More

Had an interesting visit here. Got an insight into the workings of the plantation. Very good views. Could have done with a bit of a tidy up.

Brimmer Hall Estate is a working plantation established in 1817 in the Ocho Rios area of Jamaica. Our visit to the plantation was part of a Royal Caribbean excursion. It took about two hours to reach the Estate from the port. Along the way, we learned a lot about Jamaica and got to see firsthand how true Jamaicans live. The... More

We made our own way there in a hire car and it was not well signposted from the main road. The house is lovely but we would have welcomed someone to show us around and answer our questions. Although there were just the two of us, they were happy to drive us around in a jitney and we got the... More

Let's start with the bad news. Yes the visitor facilities are run down and shabby, the only things available are the jitney tour and the house. The good news is that they alone are worth the trip. It's a working estate which means you see different crops which are explained to you, you get to sample them - fresh coconut... More

This was part of a cruise tour. It gave an interesting view of the real Jamaica on the way out to the farm, but would agree with one of the other posters they don't spend anything on upkeep. The road was practically washed out so our bus couldn't get up the drive. The tour was interesting, but there seemed to... More

The trip to Brimmer Hall was part of the excursion package for our Falmouth, Jamaica port of call. We booked this with Royal Caribbean during our Allure of the Seas Western Caribbean cruise last May. The travel from the port to this estate took 2.5 hours and upon reaching the estate where we expected have a taste of the typical... More
