Beach Day for the Grand Kids
It wasn't huge, but it did allow the grandkids to play in the Ocean. It had a bouncy toy, and the sand and beach was clean and no seaweed or debris. We rented 4 loungers and 2 umbrellas for the family. All four loungers were worn out and you are sitting on metal :(. Umbrellas were large and no complaints there. No one waits on you while on the beach. My daughter had to go into an ally way to find any food (Jerk Chicken for $31.00 for two pieces). Bathrooms were clean but hot. A lady was braiding hair in there and made it very crowded. Make sure you find a Taxi with RTB ( not 100% on the initials) but, the taxi needs to be able to be license to take you into the port.

    Great beach… but smoky!!
Great beach enjoyed everything except the bar area. No smoking signs are posted but you can’t enjoy food or drinks without feeling smoked out. Chain smoking from multiple people was just too much for me. Headache received!!

    Outrageous food wait
We waited for 5 hours for food- 1 hour of waiting for the staff to come to us. 2 hours of chasing our waitress and 2 hours of customer service issues. It was quite ghetto! After leaving, my taxi driver said that aggressive people are rewarded in this place. Beautiful beach… well-appointed but was crammed pack and hubby and I didn’t feel safe leaving our belongings unsupervised on the beach. It’s a good place for couples or large families (who cover each other)… not so cool for small families with young children (on a busy day).

    Great Beach Central Location ⛱️
Nice gated paid beach costing $8 per person and $7 per chair and umbrella. Even with the cost the beach gets pretty busy. There is access to Starbucks from the beach side, but good luck getting service. The beach has drinks and food service on the beach as well as a nice bar and restaurant area if you want to take a break. Leave your towel on the chairs to save your space. You can get a hand stamp if you want to leave and come back. Great relaxing day out. Still keep track of your belongings, just because it's safe does not mean it's pickpocket free

Great option for a visit while on a cruise
Family of four (13 & 8) chose to come here during a DCL stop in Falmouth. We looked at lots of options and this was one of the best we found for us. It was a 45 minute drive with a chartered driver each way, but it was worth it to us. As there were nonships in Montego Bay the beach was not crowded, but our server did tell us that the day before it was packed and would have been a different experience for us. The water was beautiful and the beach was clean. Entry, lounger and umbrella are $7 each. Food and drinks were very reasonably priced and delicious. We enjoyed the fish fritters, jerk chicken and fish tacos. There are three floating trampolines to use and the snorkeling at either boat pier was a nice option. We were very happy we made the trip to this beach as we hadn't had the best experiences to Jamaica before this. Would definitely go again if we ever port in Falmouth again.

I want to go back, I want to go, I want to go back!! This beach was clean and beautiful and I have nothing but nice things to. We went two days in a row and besides the river falls this beach was the best thing about our trip to Jamaica!!

    Doctors cave beach
Beautiful beach.. $8 each plus extra for sun loungers/ umbrellas etc Not allowed to take food and drink in according to the sign and no ball games. We had some pop in our bag and did drink that but seen mixed reviews of not a problem taking own and some say been approached by staff. We went in the afternoon and was pretty quiet. Taxi from Riu MBay hotel was $40 return for me and hubby and the $8 each entrance. Enjoyed it..

    Expensive day at the beach!
Expensive day!!! if you pay entrance fee, chair, umbrella and food/ refreshments . Dropping $100 USD for a day at the beach. Recommend: drive a little further for a free day at the beach!

Nice little beach, just off the "Hip Strip" It is definitely not 5 miles long, more like 500 metres. Took about 10 minutes to walk from one end to the other. The water trampoline was fun! Deep, clear water. $65 Canadian for entry, 3 beach chairs, and an umbrella. The beach is shared at one end by the S hotel. Not what I was expecting. I guess we can say, we've been there!

    Nice beach, very enjoyable
This beach was only a few minute ride from the cruise terminal, which was why we picked it, and it seemed to have good reviews. The beach was somewhat crowded, but really not too bad. Unfortunately we got there a little late and they ran out of umbrellas and lounge chairs and we had to settle for regular upright beach chairs, but we got lucky that the day was somewhat cloudy and were also set up underneath some palm trees so we got a fair amount of shade. The beach was very pleasant, it looked nice, and was very clean, and the restroom facilities were also in good shape. we didn't eat much of the food, but what we had was OK. PS: I recommend you walk 1/4 mile down the road from here and eat at Island Wingz, that place was fantastic!

We hired a private driver (Chester’s tours) and this was the first stop of our customized itinerary and it definitely got our day off to a fantastic start, as the location was not crowded upon our arrival around 9:15am, and the water was calm and pristine and not too chill either.

We paid the $6pp admission fee and also got two chairs and umbrellas at a cost of $6 each, as we had two seniors in our group and we wanted them to be comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful, as we were able to pick wherever we wanted to setup our homebase, and within mere minutes the umbrellas were in the ground and the chairs were positioned exactly where we requested.

We brought our own snorkeling gear and were able to snorkel right from the shore, as the water was clear and shallow at entry, and many fish of all shapes and sizes could be easily viewed. As you further out, the water did get deeper, but again, it was nice and calm, and we had no issues with rocks, seaweed or sea urchins at all.

We didn’t partake in the restaurants or bars since our transportation was fully stocked with beer, rum punch, water, soda and juice, but we saw many head that way as things started to get more crowded after about 10:30am or so.

Restrooms were spacious with plenty of changing rooms with benches to go with numerous stalls and urinals, and everything was clean and in good shape.

Highly recommend you check it out, just remember to arrive early to beat the crowds and secure the spot of your choice!

Beautiful public beach. Locals call it the $6 beach. $6 entry, $6 chair rental, $6 umbrella rental, $6 snorkel rental, etc.
Servers come around with drink and food menus, bathrooms are right there. Starbucks is right there, with a walk-up order window. We could have stayed all day!
It’s a great beach option!

If you want an experience somewhere in between authentically local and all inclusive hotel, this is your spot! The daily charge is reasonable, maybe 6$ US and the beach feels safe. You'll get hustled by locals trying to sell you bracelets or trinkets, but please do buy something to take back home to others that would be appreciative of a souvenir and understand that locals might not have opportunities of privilege like you to make $. Many locals that sell trinkets also are rhyme lyricists that can sing clever songs-ask them, and tip big-this is the real deal! As always, the soundscape is amazing-usually a local w/a blue tooth speaker being his/her own DJ, and not the 3 Bob Marley songs that travelers gravitate to. Get a Red Stripe or rum drink and enjoy the clear tropical water!

I absolutely loved this beach. The location is amazing, right next to the Starbucks along the Hip Strip. The water is not too deep and it is clean. There is a fee per person for entry ($840 Jamaican), as well as additional fees for umbrellas and beach chairs (about $840 Jamaican each). There is the Pier 1 bar with music where you can watch sports games or have a drink. You can also simply sit along the beach and restaurant servers will bring food and drinks to your lounging spot. This beach is good for families and couples (there is also a lifeguard on site). I would just note that it can become expensive if you need to rent multiple chairs and umbrellas in addition to the entry fee. I'd recommend bringing a towel to lounge on to save money.

Pretty cool experience, everything is literally Ala Carte there and was pretty crowded but the water was nice and so was the waiting staff. Pricey with food and drinks and they also charged for a patron margarita using Jose cuervo because they were out. Definitely not the same quality of Tequila, but overall my wife and I had a good time.

Loved this beach! Gorgeous water and sand that you could enjoy without getting haggled by vendors. The taxi was $7 a person from the ferry. The taxi driver 'Teddy Bear' is shady and tried to make people pay more to go to a different beach with 'cheap drinks'. He then tried double charging per person but we stood out ground and said it was only $7 a person not $14. George, our bartender at the beach, was awesome and very friendly. He recommended some great options for lunch and all the food was very reasonably priced. We had the cab driver 'Sugar Daddy' on the way back - HIGHLY RECOMMEND! He was honest, funny and had the whole van singing and answering trivia questions.

The beach is beautiful, but the atmosphere and staff are horrendous.

As a family, we felt constantly monitored by beach staff, security and the life guards. We were rudely told to not play with my toddler’s ball in our designated area (we took the ball out, barely touched it and immediately felt attacked by the staff for having it). My husband was scolded for digging a fun sandcastle with my toddler - in the words of the waitress “you better put the sand back in the hole”.

Rules should always be followed however how those rules are implemented and the tone of the staff should be considered - being rude towards a customer is not pleasant!

It felt restrictive and overall, not relaxing whatsoever. We observed how the security dealt with other member’s of the public and noted intense monitoring. More monitoring towards locals than to foreign visitors which could also be considered inappropriate.

Despite having previously had some wonderful memories at this beach years ago, we will not be returning after our visit to Montego Bay.
The only positives were the staff who put the umbrella up were friendly and as previously noted, the beach itself is gorgeous.

A note for management: beaches are supposed to be relaxing environments and importance should be placed on customer service satisfaction. Indeed, the price of the umbrellas, sun loungers and chairs are extortionate.

Unfortunately, having now visited Montego Bay several times, the issue of customer service performance is a widespread issue that needs to be improved overall.

Beautiful sandy beach with crystal clear water. Admittance 6$, umbrella 6$ and chair ( bed) 6$.. The bar on the beach has good cocktails ( they also bring drinks to the beach) and food ( Pier1 restaurant) .Go there as soon as it is open, it gets crowded after noon, crazy packed in the weekend's afternoon.
