    Interesting visit
Interesting visit. The guide was rather impersonal, perhaps bored, making clear this was his last tour of the day. But the museum is interesting (especially the recording studio) if a little smaller than expected.

    Amazing tour and highly recommend
Amazing experience. Irie Sue is a wonderful, informative and passionate tour guide. Great singer too. She brought the past back to life. I knew bits and pieces but it all came together on this tour.

Excellent museum tour that lets you into Marley's interesting life
The Bob Marley Museum was an excellent experience, and a must for any music fan. The tour around Bob Marley's residence was carried out by a friendly and funny tour guide that was knowledgeable of Marley and could answers additional questions about the Jamaican icon. The tour of the house was nicely laid out with many different rooms covering almost all aspects of Bob's life (would have liked a little more coverage of Bob's children) and it felt very special standing in the studio where Bob created his timeless songs. The gift shop was slightly overpriced like many similar attractions but there was a good range of gifts on offer. The café had a relaxed atmosphere and was very good, no complaints, I would definitely recommend the smoothies. Overall, the Marley Museum had little to complain about and couldn't be much better; though it may not seem like much from the outside, once inside the house you become completely in awe, as you are transported into the life of the music legend.

    Bob Marley Museum
I thought the museum experience at BMM was excellent. So much history of the leader of the Rasta music movement. You have to take “mind pictures” as cameras are not permitted inside. The outside displays and a few rooms allowed photography.

    Excellent Tour of this Museum
Visited this museum for the first time, despite visiting Jamaica many times. The tour guide, Irie Sue, was excellent. She really made the time pass quickly while providing in depth information and ensured her audience interacted throughout. An excellent trip.

    Phenomenal Museum
On my mom's surprise trip to Jamaica I took her to the Bob Marley Museum. This experience made her entire day and trip. Our tour guide was Ricky Chaplin and my mom absolutely adored this gentleman. Ricky was extremely pleasant, funny, entertaining and very knowledgeable which made the experience even more enjoyable. If you are ever flying into Jamaica, the Bob Marley Museum is a place that you have to visit. The museum is just breath taking and so interesting that it will not only leave you with knowledge and positivity but great happiness inside. I would like to thank Mrs. Marley, the staff there and Ricky Chaplin for giving the people and my mom especially such great memories as she cannot stop telling her friends about this experience back home !

    Bob Marley Museum Tour
This tour was amazing and we had the best host ever Irie Sue! She is a while mood! Irie Sue was so knowledgeable, witty, engaging and entertaining. She really brought the tour to life and kept us on our toes, really captivating us not only with the stories of Bob and the cronology of his career but her energy, infectious humor and own renditions of Bob's greatest hits. Kudos to the museum for providing a really good look into the life and works of this Living Legend and sharing the well preserved artifacts with us. It was a great tour! I was also appreciative if the fact that it started on time and they even made an allowance to assist us with an advance viewing as we had to catch a flight. This was only made better by the fact that we then saw Marcia Griffths at the airport!! Definitely a must do if in Kingston and the price was very affordable at J$3k for adults.

    My over experience was amazing.
Our tour guide Crazy was absolutely amazing. He was filled with a lot of information about Bob Marley. His energy was great. I went last year but didn’t do the tour. I’m so glad that I waited and has Crazy as a tour guide. One love!:)

Lived in Jamaica for over 39 years b4 migrating so when I booked this museum visit I thought for sure I must have gone at some point before. Well worth the visit!! Highlights - our tour guide (big up Irie Sue) was delightfully engaging, she sang Bob Marley songs, peppered us with historical facts and overall gave a tour of a lifetime. Highly recommended! Pro tip - stay afterwards for a Get up Stand Up or Ride Natty Ride smoothie to end the tour with a kick! Also much easier to book on-line and just turn up for 1.5 hours of blast in the past.

Long drive from Negril. Not keen on museums most of the time but WOW. It was great. Guide Onika ( I think) brought the whole experience to life. Loved it and I'm usually more rock than reggae. May need to convert.

I visited the Bob Marley Museum not really sure what I would see, but the experience was awesome! The tour guide ‘Irie Sue’ made the journey around the sight interesting, interactive and engaging. Between the ‘can I get a yes I?’, ‘can I get a yeh man?’ and ‘can I get a wow?’ We were given a thorough view of the site. The tour group were given time to appreciate the history of this Jamaican music legend, with questions encouraged and answered with detailed knowledge and explanations

One of the highlights was spending time with Bongo Herman who gave an emotional speech about his life with Bob. There was also an opportunity to sing along to a Marley song whilst he played the bongo drum and then we were encourage to play various percussion instruments.

The tour of the house which included an award room and his original music studio with mixing board was enlightening, providing insight into this talented artist. There is lots to see on the site….even a ‘natural herb house’ if you are so inclined!

I would definitely recommend a visit to the Bob Marley Museum. The tour was very good value for money, and suitable for a solo visitor. Just one tip….gem up on the most popular songs as participation in the sing-alongs throughout the tour makes the experience even better😉

Our hotel was just a few minutes away in walking distance so we went along. The grounds where kept clean and the mural paintings on the wall where wonderful. We started to walk around then came across a very rude security guard, we then went to the desk which we were directed to and the staff again in reception was unprofessional and the tone of voice they used was uncalled for so we decided not to go any further and left, just as well our hotel was not far away. The entrance price was expensive. I know it must be boring at work but give someone the job that wants the job and represents the Museum so you do not get bad reviews.

I own a travel business and I brought a small group to do the combo tour. We were all immediately mesmerized by the experience. Our tour guide was a lovely lady who explained the life of Bob Marley thoroughly and passionately. She also blessed us with her beautiful voice as she bellowed out the verses to several Bob Marley Songs.

At the recording studio, we again had a phenomenally talented songstress (Iris Sue) who also sang several Bob Marley tunes with so much passion that it gave us chills. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of recording our own Bob Marley song. Jamar was very patient with us as we practiced before we went live. Highly recommend this tour and be sure to allow enough time to enjoy it all.

In Bob Marleys bedroom, there is a book on the table, by the front of the room. Does anyone know the name of the book and the author?

This place is really worth its hefty entrance price when you take the tour. The guiding lady was not only full of great positive energy, she also was really musically gifted, sang the songs, brought the vibe. The grounds of this house are nicely kept and pretty. This sight represents jamaica to us.

If you visit Kingston you'll be probably be asked whether you will, or have already, visited this museum. Be aware that this is the Kingston house in this review. Tours are bookable and information about tour booking and prices is given on the website. Our tour was conducted by Stanley, who took us around the various rooms in the house, ensuring we sang the most popular Marley songs, and asking us not to forget the final full stop on Rita Marley's honours. The rooms are largely decorated with Marley memorabilia so the concept of what living in the house might have been like is somewhat lost. The kitchen comes closest to what life might have been like. Tour ended with a video presentation of clips from Marley's singing career. If you've seen 'One Love' this museum gives the movie an additional perspective. Outside you can imagine Marley playing football in the yard, although the yard is somewhat taken up by the booking office and the snack bar. The anticipated gift shop lacked large sizes in most of the T-shirts and the card machine in the shop was not working - which severely limited our choice of purchases at the time of the visit.

Visited the Bob Marley Museum in February 2024 and was not disappointed.

We booked a 12 noon tour and when we got there, there were lots of school charente there on the day.

There were lots of tourists at the time - not sure if the regular norm or it was because of the movie recently released. It costs US$25 for tourists - unsure if there is a different price for locals as I did not see it advertised.

The tour guide was entertaining, engaging and knowledgeable.

Photographs are not allowed inside the home, but you can take photos inthe area housing his jeep and outside.

For anyone who is interested in Bob Marley or reggae music in general, this is a good tour to do.

If you are staying outside of Kingston, it is better to combine with other tours as the tour lasts between 1 - 1.5hrs.
