About
More than a museum, ChocoMuseo is also an artisanal chocolate factory where we make our own chocolate from the beans to the bars with selected Dominican organic cacao. The visit of the chocolate factory and museum is totally free and we offer a free tour to teach you about the history of cacao and chocolate, the cacao tree in the nature and how cacao is transformed into chocolate. It is also a place where our visitors can participate into chocolate workshops where they have the possibility to elaborate their own chocolate from the cacao beans. You can choose the type of the workshop to participate. The workshop "FROM COCOA BEAN TO CHOCOLATE BAR" lasts 2 hours. Participant will find how to prepare handmade chocolate and learn all the steps from the harvest of the cacao in a plantation to the obtention of a chocolate bar. From the cacao beans you will roast them, peel them, and grind them into a paste. This cacao paste is used to prepare the first known cacao drink (invented by the Mayas), the traditional chocolate. In the end, from refined chocolate you will prepare your own chocolate bonbons with topping on your taste that you can take back home. Mini-workshop "UNIQUE CHOCOLATE BONBONS", 35 minutes. During this mini-workshop you will prepare the set of super chocolate bonbons using white, black and milk chocolate. Different molds and different toppings will help to create a set of unique handmade organic chocolate bonbons. Book the time of your workshop by phone or via our web-site.

All of the employees were helpful and were patient explaining the processes of each experience. Once you arrive at the location, the tour takes axp 2 hours. We enjoyed tasting rum and chocolate. We were offered cigars, but declined. I would definitely recommend this tour. It was only $5! You could buy items or not, that was your choice.

Very nice tour that is ran in groups consistently as I stopped to utilize the restroom my group had moved on. The one stop tour will explain how to make cigars and then the natural stone that is blue turned into various jewelry items. The rum tasting was good as you go on the tour. The vanilla is what I went there for! The vanilla is so pure and real so I stock up on mamajuana and vanilla its great for your health. Cacao Tea was something I taste and it was not bad. The chocolate was so soft and fresh! This was a great tour!!

My girlfriend and I did the "make your own chocolate" tour, and it was fantastic. Our instructor Jamil was very knowledgeable, and super friendly. This place makes awesome chocolate and the experience was well worth the money. 5/5 would recommend!

One of the best experiences in Punta Cana! Jamil made the experience so fun and he answered every question we had for him! You get to make everything from start to finish and try so many different and delicious things, plus we left with our own handmade chocolate bars! Everything is authentic from start to finish, would recommend for families, couples, anyone and everyone who likes chocolate!

Very interesting to learn of all of the uses of cocoa beans. Loved the smoothness of this chocolate. I have lived very close to Hershey's, Dove and Wilbur chocolate and they are all doing it wrong compared to this Dominican Chocolate.

I enjoyed learning the history of Mamajuana, the taste tests and the tours of the Cigar shop and the rum tasting. I definately left this place with plenty of gifts and souvenirs!

Really enjoyed the free tour. A brief lesson on the making of chocolate and chocolate by products. Then came the samples... yum. Was a nice outing during our vacation. Not very long but pleasant.

This place is awesome. The chocolate tea, wine, bars of cacao, creams, lotions, etc is amazing. We bought a lot of cacao items to bring back. The cocoa butter is pure-and heavenly.

Save it for a rainy day, more of a shop than museum, free and an interesting educational couple of hours.

We've been taking this free shuttle trip for years and it gets better every time. Sample their cigars, view their enormous humidor, and buy a bundle, Great prices on jewelry and Lorimar. Try their aged Mamajuana in their upstairs tasting room and their adjoining cocoa facility for chocolate. it really is a great two hours spent, especially on a cloudy our rainy day. Pickup/return to your hotel is complimentary and absolutely no pressure to buy.
