We were here yesterday while at the Scape Park and after zip lining in the heat this was a welcome spot to trek to for exceptional relief. You must wear a helmet for safety, Miguel in the photos was passing those out. I understand safety first, but fortunately we did not have to wear a life vest as we are all competent swimmers. We were a party of 4 my husband, son and daughter and I. I would say this was our favorite part of the park given the heat. I did not get the name of the wonderful gentleman who was assisting people in the water, I wish I had to thank him in this review he is awesome. I realized after my jump off the platform that my Apple Watch had come off on impact when I entered the water. I should have had a more secure band on it. The gentleman dove with a mask immediately down the 50 feet in the water and came back up with it. I was so thrilled at his skill, this was obviously not the first article he retrieved from depths. I tipped him generously. Note: water shoes are important, the steps out of the blue hole are damp and slick. You must walk carefully, I did see a lady fall who was barefoot. The little market near the Hoya Azul is a great place to get a bottle of water, soda or a beer if you need relief from the heat. They also sell popsicles and chips. We would definitely go back to the Scape Park just for this attraction.

The best adventure park me and my kids have been to till date. We are from California and have been to almost all parks there and will rate this higher. Beautiful scenery and a view of the entire city from top. It was so much fun ziplining on a cliff, swimming in underground caves, jumping from water zip lines and riding in our splash hammocks! Do visit Hoyo Azul. There is nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day. We reached there at 9 am and after signing waivers and other formalities were ready to do first ride in 10 minutes. We went there on a week day maybe that is reason for no rush. Water and other beverages come at $2 so don’t bother carrying too much . Enough to drink and eat that you will survive the day. Staff extremely friendly and nice . Contrary to what some other reviews indicated there is too much tipping pressure we don’t agree. It will not be a bad idea to carry cash and tip generously as staff is working so hard in such heat . Also locker facilities come very handy and they are big lockers and can take a lot of stuff . Best part they are free. Do carry regular shoes and swim shoes and keep interchanging based on the activity. Take tons of pictures and carry water proof case for phone . Also remember everything is available also in their store and is average price so no need to worry . Love the park and will do it again.

Great walk through the trees following a coral lined winding path. The dock allowed an easy access to clear water that was very refreshing.
Our guide furnished flotation devices for non swimmers.

The tourist attractions (cenotes and centers of interest) are in resorts and hotel complexes that charge to enter. I do not recommend, there is as much freedom to discover on your own as in other Central American countries. I didn't like it, I think it's more of a rumba plan and a little history in Santo Domingo and that's it, but I wouldn't go back

This cenote is beautiful!! If you've never been to one you should go. We came here about 10 months ago and thanks to tripadvisor figured out that you could just take a 3 dollar cab ride here and visit the cenote by paying $15 pp. No guide, no tour, you just walk up the trail yourself and go. We saw several cars parked here too of people who just went to the cenote. We just tried to go 4th of july weekend and it's completely changed! Now you have to take a "tour" that's offered 3 times a day and at $59 per person! And the tour is a tour guide walking you up the same path we took previously. I really enjoyed going on my own as we had the cenote to ourselves but now we would have to pay more and be stuck w/ other people....soooo not worth it anymore!

We recently were in Cap Cana for a 6 day stay at Sanctuary Cap Cana. We like a good mixture of adventure and relaxation and wanted to do something out of the norm during our trip -- a visit to Hoyo Azul was the perfect choice!
Our hotel had this trip as a part of an excursion package that included dune buggy riding for ~$130 per couple. Thanks to reading Trip Advisor forums before our trip, I am happy to report that our entire visit to Hoyo Azul cost us a grand total of $26 USD.
What the hotels do not tell you is that you don't need to book a full excursion to visit this beautiful area of Scape Park. We were able to take a $3 cab ride from our hotel to Scape Park and were able to enjoy Hoyo Azul for $10 each.
The one thing I will caution you if you do not visit through an excursion is that you will get lost in the shuffle if you do not speak up. As you are by yourself, there is no tour coordinator telling you where to go so you have to make sure that you remind the Scape Park staff that you are going to Hoyo Azul and you will need a ride (<2 minutes) from their staff.
Once at the entrance to Hoyo Azul you will take a 10 - 15 minute walk/hike through a very interesting jungle area (don't worry, the path is well defined but make sure to wear sneakers!! Not recommended for people who are not up for the walk)
Finally you arrive at the beautiful Hoyo Azul! I don't believe that the photos that i've taken do it justice, its just something that you will have to see for yourself!
We were goin to ask the Scape Park staff to call us a taxi when we were done but a staff member offered to drive us back to our hotel instead!! We gave him the money we were planning to use for cab fare but he didn't act like he was expecting it - double win!

We didn't want to do a crazy excursion with 40 people in dune buggies all jumping in this pool together so we just took a taxi from The Paradisus Punta Cana. It was 90.00 for both of us in our own air conditioned taxi. The driver got us into the park, to the spot we hiked in, and he went in with us! Two women alone maybe prompted him. He was a great guy and photographer for us! IT WAS SO WORTH IT to go in alone... a short basically easy hike... for most... good water shoes would be suggested! ...some areas of volcanic rock and slippery spots/steps but well marked and safe, even for a 47 and 62 year old! We were the only two people in swimming for about 15 minutes until another couple came. Then the four of us swam in the most beautiful water I have ever seen... so refreshing and quiet. NOT LIKE the excursion would have been.. who wants to be in a place like that with a huge bunch of people... DO this! YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!

This is by far the most I have paid for a dip in a natural pool . This is in Cap Cana , about 30 mins away from Bavaro . Wouldn't recommend this as a to do checklist for a Punta Cana vacation .
It's about a 10 mins of walk through the tour that starts from the reception area where you are asked to dig out $59 just for the pool .
The pool looks good , but honestly not worth the drive from Bavaro , nor the exorbitant price for the dip in the pool.
You are better off taking a walk down the beach or the party boat excursions .

This place is a must see. The water is refreshingly cool. The only draw back was we had on flip flops and we had to go through the cave to get there. Please wear gymshoes.

Gostaria de saber se existem passeios de meio dia ou para ver somente o jogo azul
Written 28 February 2020
Não. Somente full day. Sugiro um passeio mais barato chamado ojos indigenas, combinado com playa Blanca. Existe uma agência de brasileiros q oferecem este ótimo passeio.

Thanks

Is there any possibility for admission/entrance only to hoyo azul? Or it is possible Only for Half day tour?
Written 26 December 2019
No. Only full day admission. I sugest the visitation to ojos indígenas combined with playa blanca. In my opinion much better than hoyo azul.

Hola ¿La única forma de visitar el cenote de Hoyo azul es por medio de scape park? O hay otras agencias turísticas que te pueden llevar al lugar??
