It’s insulting that they even call this a mall. It should just be called “tourist bait”. It seems to exist solely to lure tourists from local hotels to pay extortionate taxi fees to go and come back.
It says a lot about a shopping mall when the best thing about it is the grocery store nearby.
There was a school supply store, an empty Samsung store, an over expensive Puma store, a couple sketchy electronic stores and a closed, run down cinema.
Honestly, listen to the reviews. I know, you’re thinking “it can’t be as bad as they say, let’s go see for ourselves”, I thought the same thing. But seriously, it really is that bad.
It was the most disappointing experience of my life… and I went to see Cats in the cinema.

Average mall with a few shops. Most were not any good deals. My wife and I went thru the entire place in about an hour. IKEA was very small. Puma was expensive. Grocery store in a mall????
Has a few local souvenir shops outside where the transportation drops you off.
Not worth the time if you ask me.....would have rather stayed on the beach.

The Jumbo supermarket has all you can ever need. The other supermarket is as well great. It was a nice change to get off the resort and do something local. When you arrive at the mall, you can walk to many places near the mall. It was easy to find a taxi for the ride back.

A shuttle service to here was provided by hotel for $5 each you get the tickets from the guest service reception within your hotel then pay when you get to the shopping mall at the desk where the shuttle drops you. We visited on a Sunday morning just to get some things from the supermarket for our room. Some shops were not open as it was early. But there did look like there were some nice shops some lovely womens boutiques. We also came here to try and change some english money into dollars what an absolute mission that was went on a ild goose chase all round here as every bank we went into said it was not possible on the island then i finally found a bank with a good English speaking lady who worked there and told us we needed to go across the road from the San Juan shopping mall to the Quezada and they would change it. So its a good place to remember when you want to change your English money into dollars. Worth a visit on a rainy day or want to pass a couple of hours before you hit the beach.

It was extremely fun to get off the resort and mingle with the locals. The shops are more of a boutique style in a way but not a like a huge American type mall . The cigar shop has decent pricing, all Dominican cigars no Cubans. The mall kinda looks like it’s running out of business but still have the essential shops you may need.

We should have believed the previous reviews! It was a waste. $5 Shuttle driver kept reminding us for the tips once we got in the van and before we got off the van. It was bad. Tips are supposed to be depending on the quality of services. Half of the shopping mall stores are empty. There is a grocery store that was very nice. We purchased a bag of sugar there and cashier had difficulty to communicate with us by telling us there was 5 pesos more. We didn't have pesos, so there was a young man worked there paid it for us.

So here is the story..
Our hotel told us that there is a taxi service to flea market. When we wanted to go, they gave us round trip ticket and we had to pay $5/person at the shopping center( not flea market). As soon as we sat in the van, driver told us clearly that he want a tip. When we reached there, instead of dropping us in front of the mall, he dropped us in front of small market ( in front of the mall). Everything is planned between the driver, management and the shop owners.. just to bring customer to them first. By the way.. mall is more than half empty and do not waste your time there. So we came back to this small plaza, did some shopping and the owners tried to make us feel bad as we did not visit them. On the way back same driver asked for the tip again...
Please don’t waste your time here. I think we will explore Bavarro downtown next time.

Can you read spanish? If not anyway go into a large grocery store not a mall store, read the ingredient label. If the 1st or 2nd word says "agua" (water) do not buy it . Cheap vanilla is anywhere in the world diluted with water You have to pay more for the same amount.. Use your instinct...
