This is a small working museum of local amber. It's more of a sales room selling different types af amber. The one fact I got from the presentation was that plastic imitation amber floats in water while real amber sinks in water.

Loved that this was free and very cool to hear about the history of the rocks. They have a gift shop and a local who shows you how he makes cigarsense that also can be purchased. Even though I don't smoke neat to learn.

Tucked away without much advertising, was taken there by our taxi man. Well worth a visit and I for one did not know about the islands' vast collection of amber.

We took a tour of the Amber Museum. It took about an hour. There were some really interesting exhibits. The place is good but not a must see.

I will quickly say this was part of our city tour. I personally enjoyed the stop. The armed guards was funny as well. Lol. He seemed interested. Lol. My wife was not as impressed as I was. To me it was interesting above impressive. Knowing that some of the amber was worth $49,000k (USD) and knowing the process to me... More

We were given a welcome beverage, and were given a talk about amber and how they use it to make jewelry. Did not find the quality of the workmanship high but did purchase some amber pendants.

There were some nice exhibits in the museum. It was pretty warm inside though, so go on a cool day. The people in the shops were very friendly.

The tour was interesting enough but only lasted 15 mins. It showed amber from different locations and how to determine if you are buying real amber at the local shops. It showed amber that had encapsulated various bugs etc which was neat!

I personally found it very boring but my kids love the Jurassic Park movies so they found it kool. At the end there are so many ppl trying to sell you something so kind of a turn off.
