This was part of an all day excursion that came with our trip. I did not know what to expect or what we were getting into. We arrived at the tourist area where we got the usual sales pitch. We were given rubber boots to put on and all loaded up on horses with no regard for size, level of... More

The waterfall located at El Limon is a must see. We traveled to the waterfall on horseback with guides. Be prepare for a long physical walk up and down some steep staircases.

Our group of 8 went one morning last week, after a rain storm the night before, which made swimming dangerous, so we were told . The water looked quite muddy , so it wasn't a heartbreaker not to go in. The poor horses have a terrible path to walk down and up , looks like cement with stones thrown on... More

We were staying in Samana and walked down to the local bus terminal where we took a local minbus headed for El Limon. The bus dropped us off directly outside one of the entrances to the trail that leads to the waterfall (cost of trip 70 Pesos each). At the entrance we could have hired horses but decided to make... We took the plantation and waterfalls tours from Cayo Levantado two years ago and it was not only enjoyable but educational as the extensive knowledge of the area, culture and history held by our multilingual guide made the bus ride as worthwhile as the the visit to the waterfall. The guided horseback trip down the slippery, narrow paths of the... More

Went with the family to el Limon to see the watercascades. We decided that we wanted to walk apart from our daughter who went by horse. We had a young very nice guide and the adventure in it self was nice. However this is a litle tourist trap with lots if people and we all feelt sorry for the skinny... More

As there had been rain for two months prior to and during our visit this may not have been one of our smarter choices for an excursion, but we sure will remember it! Horse back riding with guides my wife and 11 year old daughter first had to cross the swollen river brown water with no viability to the bottom,... More

It's a waterfall and not a super spectacular one at that. People had a great time splashing around in the murky fall water, I thought 'hey it's hot, I'm going in' my husband kindly reminded me of all the gross creeks we saw on the way there and all the likely farm run-off from the mountain cows, pigs and horses.... I visited the waterfall on the 14th December 2016 and went with Thomson. We traveled in a jeep/truck which was added fun. At the ranch, we tasted coffee, chocolate etc but it did not feel like a sales pitch and was actually quite enjoyable. We were not pushed to buy anything so felt comfortable.
