Beautiful Park in a beautiful location. My wife and I visited Curacao for a second time and the stop off was as special as the first time. The park isn't too far from the cruise terminal and really is worth the effort to get there.

This Park is situated, a 5 minute walk along Breedestrat from Queen Emma Bridge, in the centre of Willemstad. We visited here on Thursday 14th April while exploring and sightseeing in the Town.

It is named in honour of Queen Wilhelmina who was Queen of the Netherlands, which she reigned for 58 years. In In 1948 abdicated the throne in favor of her daughter Juliana.

The most notable features of the Park are the large red DUSHI and yellow CURAÇAO letters.

There is also a statue of Queen Wilhelmina celebrating the occasion of her 50th birthday. The statue can get overlooked in favour of the large colourful letters.

The Park does appear to have seen better times. Behind the Curaçao letters there are a number of purpose built structures that resemble market stalls, these have not been used ina while. The fountain was also not working.

There is a partially covered area, with a brightly painted yellow concrete structure which could possibly be used as a stage and or seating.

Queen Wilhelmina Park is great for the Curacao and Dushi signs. As for the rest of the park, it could use an update and or sprucing up. The slide for the kids is something out of the 1970’s or 1980’s. The park just needs a little TLC and considering the traffic the signs generate, you’d think they would want to give Queen Wilhelmina her proper due!

This was a busy area. Everyone seemed to stop to take a photo with the Curacao letters. I saw other areas that I liked better.

Had a coffee nearby and decided to stop here and watch the world go by. Beautiful place with a great breeze which was what the doctor ordered. Quite a few tours walking around but no problem.

We enjoyed this stop on our trip. Here you will find the CURACAO sign that most people stop and take a picture with. There are large lizard statues that the kids would love to have their picture taken with.

This park is the home of the CURACAO and DUSHI signs you may have seen in others' photos so it was on the top pf my list for my husband and I to visit and have our photos taken here as well. It is a very popular attraction, however, it wasn't as crowded when we arrived for our photo op. The issue came with trying to grab someone's attention in time to have the photos taken. Once we were able to do that, we went along with our day.

The CURACAO sign could use some touch up paint and I am sure that it is because so many people stop by all day every day but it's looking a bit dirty. I still got my photos though!

We did a walk through on a recent cruise ship excursion. Our guide described the role of Queen Wilhelmina in Curaçao history. It’s a nice place to learn a little.

There are lots of shops and cafes that border the park. It's a great place to sit and get a refreshment and watch the people go by.
