    Private Beach Resort in Curacao
We disembarked from our cruise ship and walked a short distance to the cab stand, where we me Jennifer. We advised her that we wnted to ride to Mambo Beach. She said it would cost $8 for the cab per person and $3.50 for entry to the beach. Chairs and umbrella would be extra. While riding, Jennifer made a suggestion that would cost $10 for the cab and $12 for entry to the beach. Shade trees and comfortable chaise lounges were included in the entry fee, so it was actually cheaper than going to Mambo Beach. Once inside the resort, there was a small private beach and a protected inlet as well as a restaurant, bar and bathrooms. We were Jennifer's first customers of the day and we arranged to have her pick us up at 3:30. At the end of our beautiful beach day, Jennifer was waiting for us at the gate to drive us back to the ship.

Overcrowded to the max; Has Gone Downhill
We’ve been coming here for years, and the place has just gone downhill so much. The short answer is, they have to stop letting day passes in, the beach is incredibly overcrowded, with literal arguments breaking out over seating. If they made it for residents only , it would go along way. The beach is gorgeous, but just so overcrowded.

    Amazing snorkeling!!! Beautiful place!
Blue Bay Beach was amazing and wonderful - a highlight of our cruise. We went there as an excursion from the Norwegian Prima. We have snorkeled all over the Caribbean and this place is one of the best. The water is clear and calm, and it is easy entry from the beach - no large dips or waves. There are MANY types of fish in this bay and I got many amazing underwater photos. The ability to snorkel off the beach in calm, clear water with many fish is what snorkeling is all about! I read some of the low rating reviews and I can't believe they are talking about the same place. There was no bad smell, no dirty beach, and a reasonable number of people in the water. It was like paradise!

Fantastic beach! In my opinion the nicest on Curaçao
Went to this beach several times during our holiday last 2 weeks. Good beds, clean showers and toilets, easy parking, friendly ladies where you get your parking ticket and fast and good service on the beach! You can also enjoy snorkeling. Everything is there for a wonderful day at the beach!

    Nice beach and snorkeling
Stayed in a nearby condo. Really enjoyed the beach as our home beach when we weren’t exploring others. Good snorkeling and a beautiful view. Service is adequate. Prices are as expected for a resort area, and the food overall was good at the beach bar.

I loved this beach, my favorite of Curacao
I loved the beach, beautiful, with infrastructure in size and for smaller, it looks more cozy Private, and part of a hotel and condominium complex but easy to access. I almost stopped going through the reviews, but glad I was - it was my favorite!

    Blue bay did not disappoint!
If you’re staying in blue bay, you’re going to love it! The drinks were delicious and the staff was very friendly. The snorkeling was amazing and easy. We saw an octopus. I felt comfortable allowing my children to swim without a life jacket because the undertow was very mild. The nightlife was a lot of fun.

Disappointment for the high entrance price
Entrance fee is high ANG 50 for 29. Chairs simple and not comfortable. Asked on arrival to disinterested employee if there was still enough space and she muttered yes. So was very busy and little shade. 3 broken chairs later still found small spot. Beach is unfortunately full nowadays with luxury apartments almost on the beach.

We stayed in a property of the Blue Bay Beach Resort from November 5th to 20th, 2023.
Fortunately, the use of the beach was included for us, as the whole thing would have been very expensive otherwise (see picture with price tag).

The cruise operator AIDA also brings its bathers here for beach stays.
(like us back in 2014).

At the entrance to the beach there is a stand with a sometimes (less) nice lady who controlled the entrance or collected the money.
From around 4 p.m., however, she had mostly disappeared. 🤫

Otherwise, you will find a restaurant, a bar, a diving school on the beach, a massage studio hidden inconspicuously in the back right corner from the entrance, a beach volleyball court and clean toilets at the entrance.

There are palm trees that provide shade, but it is still sweltering hot here at lunchtime!

It is advisable to wear water shoes in the water! In addition to sharp stones/coral remains, there are mainly poisonous scorpion fish that you should not step on.

I was able to see these while snorkeling from a depth of around 1.50 meters, especially on the right edge of the bay.

This area along the cliffs is also a real El Dorado for snorkelers.

In addition to the aforementioned scorpion fish, you can also see an enormous variety of other colorful fish here, including octopuses, moray eels, puffer fish, flounders, etc.

The coral world also seems to have remained somewhat intact here.

Conclusion: Great beach if you live locally and/or are not short of money.

We were staying in the Blue Bay Resort so we had a car that gave us free access to the beach otherwise you have to pay a small fee.
Absolutely gorgeous beach. The water is so clear and blue and perfect temperature. You can bring your own snorkels or rent there for $15. Lots of pretty fish to be seen.
Not overly crowded when we were there and there is a restaurant right on the beach and a small shop that sells sunscreen etc. you can also learn how to dive there.
We chose to rent a Palapa from Brass Boer which was $100 a day and it was well worth it. They give you a towel and water and you can order food from them which is not crazy expensive. The palapa gave us shade , privacy and we had a net that we could lie on over the water to get sun. Totally relaxing.

A few nights a week I believe Friday and sometimes Wednesdays there is live music at night on the beach and a big bonfire where they sell marshmallows to roast.

Blue Bay Beach is our favourite beach below and under water. Nice sand, although it's not natural. Try digging a hole in it ;) Easy surf and very nice clear sea. It's great with smaller children and the under water life is abundant too (saw a sea turtle and a lion fish in the reef).

In the weekends it can get busy and there seems to be an issue with guests who come early in the morning, place their towel and leave again. The resort staff will remove your towels, they say. But at two occasions we were there early, we saw more towels than people. My advice is to come early if you want to sit in the shade (and have young kids).

My only point of negative feedback is that even if you live at the resort as a guest or resident, you;re not allowed to bring your own food or drinks. For guests who do not stay on the resort, I get that. But being forced to buy everything from the restaurant as someone living on the resort is a bit crazy. The "free bach access" is being paid indirectly by guests and residents, so they should be allow to bring their own food and drinks (as long as its not a full on BBQ).

Also, some day guests do not behave, playing loud music, displaying indecent behaviour or taking bottles of alcohol in the sea. These were both people who lived on the island, but not at Blue Bay is an influx of American cruise tourists (who treat Blue Bay as an all you can eat resort). Since Blue Bay Beach is very child friendly, there should be zero tolerance for people taking glass bottles of alcohol in the sea.

We stayed for two weeks at a villa in Blue Bay. Blue Bay beach itself is a nice beach- there is no doubt about that. This review concerns the beach bar management that seems to have replaced Caribbean hospitality with greed trying to squeeze out any extra guilders wherever possible. During the European Championship games the management of Blue Bay made access to the beach bar exclusive whenever Holland played- selling’VIP’ tickets and requiring seat reservations for access to the bar area. My partner and his son had been watching many other games in the bar, while eating lunch and sipping drinks. When Holland played they were sent away because they did not have ‘a reservation’. We saw other people being sent away as well as if they were second rate guests (who nevertheless had paid in full for beach access). It ruined our experience at Blue Bay that day. We have stayed at Blue Bay before but the vibe is very different this year and both the bar and restaurant at the beach have become overly expensive while the quality and service have deteriorated. Such a pity!

I came here for a snorkel/beach day excursion through NCL. We waited quite a long time in the sun to board our bus, so that was disappointing. Then we waited for two cruisers who were running late. If people are missing more than 45 minutes after the meet time NCL gave us, you need to start the tour without them.

The location is very beautiful and well maintained! We were given private beach chairs and great snorkel gear. Our snorkel guide took us all around the bay pointing out the different types of fish and coral. I was surprised by how well this worked, I just had to make sure at least one ear was out of the water so I could listen. They have a resident octopus "Maggie", but she was not at home when we went by. They also have a coral reef restoration project that was very interesting to see. Our guide explained how it was done and managed by the staff. After the 15-20 minute guided snorkel, we had about 2 hours to continue to snorkel or lounge on the beach. I got a hamburger lunch and a drink from the beach waitress and both were delicious but pricey - about $36 after tip. The staff was also very friendly and professional! I had an awesome time!

I wish this excursion lasted longer, especially after leaving port so late. They did offer if anyone wanted to stay and take a taxi back to port, that was available for the entrance fee to the beach of $12 plus cab fare. You could also re-rent the snorkel gear if you wanted to snorkel later. I was a solo traveler though so this would have been a little too pricey for me.

I would not recommend. Came because the beach got such high reviews. It was quite small. The snorkelling was meh at best. No coral. It seems like they threw in some rocks at the edges of the bay where yes you could see some colourful fish but that’s about it. It’s a $12 entrance fee which was fine, but everything else was so overpriced ($17 for a smoothie) I did not purchase on principle. Last thing, there is literally 1 shower for each gender. We came early enough in the day, but if you were to come later it would be very busy. I don’t usually write reviews but I wanted to let other people know to check out other beaches.

The day started out ok, but as the day went on it got very crowded and the beach area is small. The bathrooms got very gross in the afternoon. No one ever cleaned them all day!!
We were there for the day from our Cruise Ship. It cost $40 for two in a taxi, about a 20 minute ride and $30 to get back to the ship in 15 minutes. We won’t be back, will try a different beach next time.
Also, the water had a lot of big rocks, almost broke my toe on one!!

Horrible and overcrowded with tourists. Do not even consider going to this tiny sized manmade-looking "beach" that's loaded with insects you will have to deal with. Also, why pay $12 or more for entry, when there are so many free beaches on this island? This is the island's worst joke of a beach destination. It's a tiny plot of sand next to a watering hole that was designed to accomodate only the small number of residents who live nearby, but they opened it to tourists and it doesn't accomodate them comfortably.

Warning: Taxi drivers on this island will rip you off badly. Try not to pay more than $5 per person for a one-way trip to any beaches. In fact, consider skipping this island altogether and stick with Bonaire and Aruba only. So many people have bad things to say about Curacao.

We picked this beach for a mid-day trip primarily for snorkeling. We also wanted a beach with chairs, shade, and food. We were surprised by the $12pp use fee, and initially had trouble finding shade. Fortunately, a second look located a couple of lounge chairs under a shade sail. The snorkeling did not disappoint! We have snorkeled in many places around the world and rated our experience at Blue Bay Beach this day as one of the best. Step into the water, look down and notice the schools of translucent fish at your feet. Swim out to the end of the rock walls to experience a vast variety of fish.
Interestingly, some fish varieties were one or few of a kind, and other fish were in schools numbering the hundreds if not a thousand or more. My wife said she felt like she was in an aquarium. The coral is interesting too, but not as spectacular as the fish.
There is a restaurant on the beach and servers who will come to your chairs. There was a long wait for our food, but it was tasty.

We mostly went to public beaches on Curacao but found the $12 entry fee to Blue Bay completely worth it. Lots of shade, friendly service at the bar, and so peaceful. We had a fantastic day snorkeling and reading - one of the best days of the trip.
