The Jan Thiel beach area is excellent. There are numerous places to sit and relax with plenty of cover from the sun. There are also numerous good restauants Water activities are available.

Jan Thiel beach is 13 km from the cruis ship terminal. This will take you 25-45 minutes depending on traffic.

Yes you will need a day pass, not expensive at all. I from a place (BRAZIL) where beaches are free of charge and I delighted paid for it. Not that far, but I advice to rent a car once buses will not reach it. Renting a car... More
