Beautiful building with refreshing colour. There is an officer at the front but does not stop you. No charge to walk through the gate. Pictures are allowed. There is a museum near the back but it's not free. There is a charge. Nothing really memorable...More

Fort Amsterdam is of historic significance and as in yesteryears remains the seat of government. It houses several government offices including the Governor's office. Inside lining the square are the offices and a cathedral with a cannon ball embedded on the wall!

Not.much to see at fort Amsterdam. Nowadays it's an government building which means you cannot go inside. The outer wall is nice and the courtyard too. At some moments the chapel is open to visitors. The fort is situated right at the pontjes brug.

While visiting Willemstad we walked arround a lot and slept in two different hotels, before and after our cruise. We did visit the fort, but only from the outside this time.

This was our second stop on our Royal Caribbean Cruise which was breath taking. Crashing waves on the rocks, perfect Dutch architecture and people who love their country, will talk to you and make you feel at home. We went all over the area, shopped,...More

Not on the "must see list" but fascinating to see Dutch architecture on a Caribbean Island and plenty to see at this, the seat of the local government. Not many buildings are accessible, mainly because they are in use as public buildings/offices. If you are...More

We drove to Ft. Amterdam with our tour guide to take in the views. They are impressive.....you can see the pretty side and the industrial side of Willemstad.
