Goeverment offices

interesting architecture but though we could (and did) go into the interior courtyard we couldn't really see too much as these are still functioning government offices.

Fort Amsterdam is an interesting building for a short visit. It was built around 1630 to protect St Anna Bay. it had 4 Bastions and thick walls. I believe it is on UNESCO list of world heritage sites. The Dutch Reformed Church was built in 1769 and can be visited for a reasonable fee. Could not get a good photo... More

You are in Willemstad and so is the fort, so it is worth taking a couple of minutes to look around, but that is about it.

This area is not well promoted but it is an interesting series of connected buildings including the old church. There is little or no signage and details of the history which is a pity. The church was built in 1768 displayed on its wall and that is about it. A short visit is all that is needed.

Fort Amsterdam is a historical site where the Curacao parliament gathers for special meetings, but als saw many important, historical figures pass by. Simply amazing architecture!

The government buildings and the governor's mansion are located in the fort as well as Fort Kerk, which is an old church.

Had a great time all around the island, saw kids selling iguana meat by the side of the road as we drove around.

It's really remnants of a fort with some shops and plazas, not nearly as nice is Riffort across the water.

Good Historical spot. Good photo ops but not much else here. Still it's not much out of the way, so stop by and snap some good Facebook photo's.

I love the look of the building but at the end of the day it seemed like more of a fancy facade for a parking lot. Good for a quick visit but plenty of other things to see and do in Punda.
