Our intro to the Paseo del Prado was the day after we arrived at the Hotel Sevilla. We noticed a huge ballet studio across from the hotel and soon heard loud music coming from below. The dancers from the ballet school put on a show on Paseo del Prado which eventually led to local school children joining for a giant... More

This is a great street in the old town to watch people go by. There are lots of different book sellers and artists there, and it has a busy but not intrusive feel.

Could not find this grand avenue on the Havana map. The actual map name is Ave Marti. Down the center of the street is a wide walkway that is mostly deserted at this time. I can picture this in the future looking like La Rambla in Barcelona packed with tourists and hucksters. The buildings lining the street are in disrepair... More

This area of downtown Havana is filled with a variety of historic buildings and a huge, domed cathedral. Definitely should be included in a driving tour of the city.

This is something you definitely want to do in Old Havana/Central Havana. It is very safe and you can feel like a local! You get a good view of architecture and historical places down this scenic road.

My hotel was right on the Prado so I found myself walking up and down it quite often. During the day it is filled with people, kids and families. On the weekends there were artists, political movements and at night the prostitutes fill the seats and invite you over to talk. I didn't care for the latter but all in... More

This very long boulevard is lined by old palaces, the capital, Parque Central, monuments and shops. It is well worthwhile strolling the entire length as it changes from block to block. Alternately well preserved and moderately crumbling, the old buildings are often luminous, especially when juxtaposed to the more pedestrian modern architecture. Better on a sunny day.

Love to walk here when I visit Old Havana. Saturdays and Sundays there are Artists displaying and selling their paintings and also teaching the young Children. So cute..learned something myself too. Further down are the real estate people selling homes and apartments. All of the way down are young people playing and dancing in the sun. Not at all noisy... More
