A Very Well Position Fort

The fort is extremely well positioned by the Spanish to guard the Havana harbor. The condition of the fort is very good. One has a view of the whole Havana waterfront.

A great way to view Havana and the well built fortifications after the British used this as a high point to rout the spanish. Great views of fisherman to the East and Old and New Havana with a wonderful fort and museum on sight.

A great for with fantastic views. The inside is just rocks and low-ceiling buildings (sort of a museum also), but it is very interesting to wander around. Keep in mind that it was used as a prison... terrible. Also, the cheapest way to reach this point (and maybe the funniest) is via bus. You can take several buses near Old... More

We were on a bus tour and went before it opened. We were there for the cigar shop outside in the outer wall. we were able to go up on to the wall and get the grand view on all sides. I have seen the insides of forts many times so just being able to see the outer walls was... More

At first I had no interest visiting El Morro but I'm extremely glad our taxi driver insisted. You won't need to spend too much time here but stop near the lighthouse/Fort for some spectacular views of Havana.

You can get a perfect view of Havana when looking over. It would be the perfect place for a sunset photo. There is a little shop that sells rum and cigars.

I do not see how anyone could visit Havana and not visit El Morro. Although I had a rather hurried visit to the Castlillo, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Spanish word "morro" means rock and it can be seen clearly from the sea which is why the light house was built here. The tradition of "el canonize de las nueve"... More

The Morro offers a light show visit in the evening. It was good to see, if you have time. If not visit during the day and check out the fort.

Great views of Havana. Good exhibition around the colonial history and castles of cuba inside. We first took the boat across - but to the wrong place - on the other side of the estuary. Ended up taking a taxi through the tunnel. After the visit, some good places to eat below the castle, with excellent views of Havana.
