There are a few historical building around the square. One of them hosts El Pation restaurant. We went in for the restroom stop, had to pay to use it. Cathedral is the most prominent building here. It is in Cuban Baroque style has a strange...More

This place is very beautiful and meaningful historically. Not only the church, made from sea rocks, but the whola plaza and surrounding buildings. This place oozes colonialist atmosphere.

The church is incredible! Take your time and really look at the artwork inside. The history is very interesting. You do not have to be catholic to appreciate the beauty and historical significance of the church.

You can go inside the entrance area to the cathedral at no cost, but if you want to really tour it there is a small charge. Many tours stop there briefly. Nearby are several bars and restaurants.

Was a wonderful experience to go in and view this cathedral. Amazing work of art. So much attention to detail as most cathedrals are. Nice square where locals hang out and do hair braiding as well. Walking distance to local bars and restaurants.
