During a recent cruise, we visited Aruba, Curacao, and Bonaire. Using a rented golf cart, we toured Bonaire on our own. We had read about Lac Bay and based on others reviews, wanted to see it for ourselves. We were quite pleased with what we found -- crystal clear and calm waters surrounded by a beautiful white sand beach. This... More

The is actually the beach part with the wind surfers and the peninsula part called Cai. We like to stop at lac bay and get a drink on our last day. This last trip we went to Cai. The road to Cai is mostly poorly maintained dirt and takes a really long time to get to a 5 mph. The... More

Because we didn't arrive at Kite City Sorobon Beach on Lac Bay until around 9am it was a bit breezy and the 20 minute shallow walk to the reef for snorkeling turned into a very challenging, sometimes neck high event, for my friend who is probably 5'3" tall. It was a real struggle through currents to get to the reef.... More

This is our 6th trip to Bonaire from Washington State in the past 18 years, so obviously we love it, considering the long plane ride. Most people come to Bonaire for the world-class diving, but for me, it's windsurfing in the warm, shallow waters of Lac Bay on the windward side of the island. Think 81 degree, crystal clear water... My brother and his wife have been coming to Bonaire for years for scuba diving, which they love. But, their favorite place to 'hang out' is at Lac Bay, watching the windsurfers. So, when DW and I decided to visit Bonaire, Lac Bay was a 'must see'. It is simply beautiful...shallow water (waist / chest high) for almost as far... More

Five stars if you are a windsurfer or if you are off a cruise boat and wish to learn windsurfing in a couple of hours.

This will be our 14th trip to Bonaire, and we spend most of it at Lac Bay. Usually windsurfing, but also SUP, and snorkeling. Great atmosphere, friendly people and good food.

What a beautiful place to swim, snorkel. The water is shallow and so clear you will think you are in Heaven. Lots of chairs to rent with lots of bars to enjoy a cool beer and enjoy a bite to eat. A great place to take small children
