We did a morning walk from the resort to St. James. This is a beautiful church with interesting history. If you get a chance, meet Terrance. He's great! Leave a donation! Well deserved!

A beautiful well kept church which is clearly well supported as well as being the oldest Anglican church on the island. Friendly members of the church who are generous with their time in explaining the history and present day. Some well known visitors to the...More

Interesting for a quick look around and in a pretty setting. One of the members of the church was very friendly and welcoming and was keen to point out where Ronald Reagan and Nancy had sat when they visited!

We attended a service at St. James and it was both welcoming and a warm example of the hospitality of Barbadian parishioners. While somewhat "old school" in presentation, it was also relaxed with a warm Caribbean flavor.

We visited the church one afternoon. A church on the site dates back to the 1620's and was open for us to walk around. Modern statuary, stained glass and mosaic works add to the ambience of the church and its grounds.

We came for the Sunday 9am service, and were made very welcome. All the locals were dressed very smartly indeed (suits, hats, pearls) - we were in shorts/t-shirts, but they did not seem to mind. Service was quite long - went on until 10.45. Lots...More
