It is really a wonderful experience to swim with the hawksbill turtles out in the sea just off Payne's Bay Beach. Sailboats come from Bridgetown and the bring tourists, which attracts many tortoises. Just a short distance off the shore you can find yourself in the midst of one of Nature's wonders while wearing a mask or goggles. Unforgettable!

Visited here Thursday and loved the beach. Theres a few annoying people who keep asking you if you want to buy things but we just ignored them. Its located just before sandy lane so we got to see a few famous peoples houses, once we walked down sandy lane from the beach. The sea was lovely and the sand was... More

Lovely beach, nice for swimming, turtles and sunbathing. That is, until the taxis start arriving and disgorging large groups of tourists all at once and suddenly the whole ambience of the beach changes. 2 tips 1. Google which days there are no large cruise ships in at Bridgetown and visit then. 2. The fishermen throw the fish scraps in to... More

Our 3rd year to Barbados,we usually stay around Holetown, but decided to have a beach villa on paynes bay, so glad we did, super beach ,restaurants ,close to Holetown for shopping, and not far to Bridgetown,we rented via blue sky luxury home experts, very professional and well appointed house, with maid and cook/ housekeeper.would definitely recommend and use again.

Nice area on the West Coast of Barbados. Beautiful Beaches and coast line. Food expensive and restaurants overpriced for what you get. Local buses $2 for any trip any distance and get around the island quite cheaply.

Took the local bus from the bus terminal near to the cruise terminal. The bus is only a dollar and a great way to explore. The beach was great with beds and umbrellas for hire. The children loved the sea and beach combing. You can negotiate a trip to see the turtles which is a must if you have not... More
