Harbour Lights Barbados was such a disappointment. I was with a friend and we both spent £100 plus each on the evening, which we booked via our hotel. We were 5.minutes down the road so transport could not have been a great part of that. The food was adequate, I would have been happy.to pay £20 tops for it. The included drinks did not include wine, we expressed our concerns to the manager, who gave us a glass of wine that was so nasty it ended up watering the nearby palm trees. I hope they survive. The entertainment was also a disappointment, no limbo dancers as advertised. I can truly say that this is our last night in Barbados and the only time we have felt ripped off. Think very carefully before you go.

Staying in Barbados and booked online to spend a day on the beach at Harbour Lights. The website promised a funday with great local food and drinks.
There were four other guests besides ourselves, there was no food and the bar was undergoing repainting and maintenance. We did eventually after much complaining get two portions of fries.
The reason for the lack of people and the maintenance was that no cruise ships were in. Surely we should have been told this when we booked ?
All in all a very poor experience and there was no sign of any apology.

Hi there, we do apologise for this, the manger realised that our service for you was not up to par yesterday and upon looking for you, you had already left. A full refund has been issued to your credit card. We knew that tt was a quiet day for us and we did take the opportunity to do some maintenance. Please know that this is not the norm at Harbour Lights.
Again, we do apologise and hope that you enjoyed the rest of your time in Barbados.

Went here as a family of, youngest is 3 years old and oldest 64, other three in the group are in their 30’s and all enjoyed the night.
Door staff polite, we were seated quickly and informed of bar drinks etc.
How much fun you have here really depends on you, and if you want to get involved in the night. The entertainment is varied and so so. I’ve seen better, and I’ve certainly witnessed worse and paid a lot more for it, but I must say the singer really can sing, so that is a treat. You do get the feeling that you are having a Bajan night. Men on stilts were enjoyable as is the band.
Bar staff do not smile much, but I don’t need strangers to engage with me to enjoy myself, if you do, you may leave here disappointed as bar staff do not show signs of enjoying their job in the slightest, but they are efficient in serving so no real queuing at the bar which is a bonus. Drinks do taste strong (this is not a complaint) and they do flow freely. Funny that the more you drink the better the entertainment acts get.
As I do not like queuing, I waited until the que had gone down to get my food. I would recommend doing this if you are hungry. As I was one of the last to get food, I ended up with a lot more on my plate than the members of my group that got their food way before me. Suppose they have to give sparingly at the start to ensure everyone gets some. The food was good enough, and for me plentiful.
We left at 10:30pm because we had the young one, but was told the night continues if you want to stay and party. Its worth a one off visit for a Bajan inspired night. For food, drink, return travel I do not think the price paid is bad value for money. Give it ago, it really is fun for all ages.

I lived in Barbados for a year and being 26, Harbour Lights is my ALL TIME FAV CLUB ever - Friday nights will never be the same. The drinks are free (£10 on the door), the music is Soca-tastic and the regulars are the best dancers - Rubber Waist - yeah baby!!!! Check out the guy that dances on stage each Friday in the gold spangly trousers - you'll never see hips move like that anywhere else!!! I've only been back in the UK 8 weeks and I've already booked my flights back. It's interesting how many British celebs you see in 'The Lights' as it became fondly known - hey Laura - remember that Michael Jackson tune?!!

Having experienced, like others, many clubs in my 19 years on this planet, i can safely say that i had the best night of my life in Harbour Lights a couple of weeks ago. The music is varied, the drink is cheap ($35 barbados dollars to get in (around £10)with free drink till 3!!) and the people sure as hell know how to have a good time! The setting is perfect, right on the beach and outside - it is neither boiling hot nor claustrophobic like so many other clubs around London - or Europe for that matter. You cannot fail to have a good time, so if you're lucky enough to be in Barbados - dont you dare leave without having visited Harbour Lights, its great fun!

We visited Harbor Lights as part of a shore excursion from our cruise ship while docked in Barbados.
This was by far the most crowded beach we have ever witnessed. There were 6 to 7 rows of chairs with about 100 chairs per row. It was elbow to elbow along the beach. Sooooo crowded that people were getting irritated and angry at one another. VERY difficult to even walk around.
We should have seen the signs when we first arrived and left immediately. When when we first arrived, we were greeted with orange juice ... which turned out to be Tang ! We had a good laugh and reminisced about when we were kids drinking Tang for breakfast, but we should have seen the signs and left Harbor Lights right then.
The included lunch was even worse !!
Two deep fried flour balls flavored with some fish paste and a small piece of dried out banana bread that the pigeons had been picking over. I know what you are thinking .... how could it be THAT bad? It was really that bad. While waiting for lunch, I kept telling the employees that the pigeons were getting into the food. The guy shooed them away and said “birds got to eat too”. See the pictures attached to this review. I included a picture of “lunch”.
Also, when we did decide to leave, the woman at the front desk wouldn’t let us leave until she called a “special cab” for us. We were on to them at this point ... I walked right out the front door and onto the street and flagged down a cab in just a few seconds. The woman at the front desk told my wife to “Get him back in here. You have to take our cab. They going to charge him more.” It was another part of their scam ... the cabbie I flagged down was $10 for the ride back to the port. We found out later from other guests that the “Harbor Lights cab” was $10 per person and loaded everyone together in a van.
Save yourself some trouble and avoid Harbor Lights !!!

great night out but they have several themed evenings so choose which is best for you, i chose the free drink option, and left at 2 in the morning so extremley good value for money as it would have cost a lot more in the alchol alone without the great entertainment with stiltmen fire eaters limbo dancers etc.
we were lucky with the weather as its open air, but if you do not want to take chances there is a similar thing called Roots & Rythams which is in doors, but a lot more conservative, well the night i was there anyway, given the choice i would go back to Harbour Lights with the sea in the background as well as the beach

This is a great place to go out, but don't expect it to be 'local' it's full of tourists. A good night can pretty much guarenteed. If you go on a free drink night a little tip: ask for your drinks with no ice as it makes them less strong (more room for a mixer). Beware there is a sandy beach so if you put on your heels you will end up taking them off!

Before we got to Barbados I thought this would be a fun night event since we were traveling with kids. We waited til we got to the island to make reservations for the Monday show. We called and they said they had an event that Monday so they changed it to Tuesday. We booked for 6 and said we would take our own transport since we had become familiar with the buses and that they only cost $1 USD. So it was about a $5 savings per person to do that. We arrived and paid the entry fee and selected our meat option for dinner. Walked in and went to bar. Rum punch for adults. The night got better and better after that. We found 4 bottles of rum BEFORE they even started the treasure hunt. Then the live band and singer who was EXCELLENT. He needs a record deal ASAP. The calypso dancers, the limbo dancer (who actually called my husband up on stage) the fire eater and the stilts men (who were sexy as can be) made the night complete. Met a nice family from England and a couple from NY. Dinner was flavorful and plentiful and the kids enjoyed the chocolate fondue with marshmallows and cake. I wasn't sure initially if this would be boring or corny but let me tell you all 4 adults and 2 8 year old boys enjoyed themselves completely and wanted to go back to the Wednesday dinner show. It's a fun night while on a beautiful island. Just drink the rum punch, dance and enjoy!!!!

Hello, we are looking to visit and do the beach package to include lunch. Can you clarify what the lunch would be and would any drinks be included? With thanks 😊

I see that this says night club, is it an actual nightclub or are children allowed to the show?
Many thanks
Written 30 July 2019
Yes it is a nightclub, on the website it says that all ages are allowed but I don't recall seeing any children or even anyone under the age of 16. I'm sure it would be fine if you brought children but after the show was over I don't think it would be much fun for children because it's more of a nightclub atmosphere after that!

Very soft and nice sand, no seaweed, clear water. However, when we went, it was super crowded
Written 20 July 2019
What hotel did you stay at that was nearby? Are there other nightlife and things to do in this area? Thanks in advance!
Written 2 August 2018
We stayed at club Barbados resort and spa which is just outside holetown which is within walking distance
. The harbour lights is in Bridgetown which we went to by day on the reggae reggae bus then a 10 min walk, but for the evening event transport was laid on from the hotel to the venue and back.

Hi KD G,
Just to clarify that children are absolutely allowed to Harbour Lights during the day and during the Beach Extravaganza and Dinner Show each Monday and Wednesday. In order to attend the night club each Wednesday and Friday you must be age 17+ with proof of ID.
I hope this helps! Please do visit our website for anymore information
