We walked from the Cruise Ship dock into town so we could walk along the waterfront boardwalk. When we got to the park there were several unsightly characters hanging out there. One tried to approach us but, unfortunately for him and fortunate for us there was a policeman close by and chased him away. It is a very small park... More

Queen's Park, Bridgetown's only park, came about December 1782, as a result of the American Revolutionary War that a permanent British garrison should remain in Barbados. Queen’s House, along with twelve acres, became a public park in 1909. The Baobab Tree or Monkey Bread Tree, which is part of the park, is about 250 years old and has a trunk... More

Queen's Park is part of the essence of Barbadian History and is just as beautiful today as it always was. My most recent visit was at Agrofest where it housed hundreds of Entrepreneurs exhibiting their wares...Beautiful!!!

Needs an updated children's area, a water feature would be nice and the grounds need some attention. It is a good place to have a function but not truly a park for everyday family fun.

We strolled around in this park as we wanted to get some shade. We found the huge tree and got dome good information about the park from some local caretakers. If you want to get out of the buz in Bridgetown and want to have it quiet and calm - this is the place!

If you are walking around Bridgetown then it is not out your way to visit. The huge tree is worth seeing. Unfortunately we could not see into the main building as there were boards around it. Hopefully this means renovation and a better experience in the future.

I had read that this baobab tree was in Queen's Park - after getting some direction help from a couple very friendly locals, we found the tree easily within the park. Definitely worth the quick side trip to visit it - just amazing how large this tree is. My kids loved it as well - great photo op as well!

The sun has certainly set on this part of the British Empire. The grand house, the gardens and fountains all in a total state of disrepair, neglect and dissolution. For many reasons Barbadians want to ignore the grandeur of the British regime. But to allow this part of their history to rot away is a shame. Worth the visit to... More
