We attended a wedding reception here and enjoyed it. The gardens were lovely and there was a great view of Hamilton.

if you are in town, I recommend you go here. It's a short walk up from the town proper, and the view is worth it. As are the canons, moat, underground archives, and lawn.

I have a passion for forts. This one is a magnificent structure that so much COULD be done with, but hardly anything has been done with it. Very few markers outlining any of the history. One of the buildings inside the fort is dedicated to the history of how electricity was brought to the island. Another was about the history... More

Fort Hamilton is a little walk from downtown Hamilton, but enjoy the scenery as you go and have a nice leisurely stroll. The fort overlooks town and you can get some great photos. The grounds are nicely kept up. You can spend a few hours exploring the buildings and moat. There is a walk through a jungle garden in the... More

Plan a day here. Lots of shops, restaurants, and water park. Can also get ferries to Hamilton or other areas. Really enjoyed our time here.

Beautifully restored fort built on a hill overlooking the town and harbour of Hamilton. You could imagine what it was like to live in the fort back in the eighteenth century.

Not a hard walk fro Front Street. Beautiful grass and plants but not much more than that. Good view of Hamilton Harbor. Save your energy for Fort Catherine in St Georges. Much more to see at that Fort.

If you like to walk along the road less traveled, it's worth a walk to Fort Hamilton. You will be rewarded with no crowds, lovely grounds and a spectacular view of the harbor. Really lovely. Tip-there are restrooms but no concessions. You will want to bring water and maybe a snack.

While not a "must see" (is anything in Bermuda?), Fort Hamilton makes for a very pleasant stroll. The grounds present a classic 19th century English fort, and a walk in the moat -- now a tropical garden -- makes for a fine stroll. There certainly could be more signage, but considering the price -- free -- it's hard to complain.... More
