I read about the Birdcage on Trip Advisor and my husband was very interested in being a daredevil to get his photo taken. You do have to navigate a few lanes of traffic with no crosswalk (especially confusing if you are American--ha!). But he made it safely and we got some great photos looking down Front Street. I was less... More

Take a picture here in the birdcage and you will get almost the entire front street in your picture. Front street is our major hub in the island.

Nothing really special to see. Just a stand for a traffic cop at the end of Front Street. Not manned during the off season we were told.

This is where police direct traffic from at rush hour. Other than that time, its a great spot right on Front Street to grab a very unique photo opportunity.

A traffic cop will direct traffic here occasionally. But mostly it is tourists taking photos. You can get a good view of Front Street or the harbor.

When I lived here, there were no traffic lights but a policeman clad in Bermuda shorts and long sox would direct the traffic. It was a real icon.

This birdcage was once used to direct traffic. It remains at its original site. On Harbour nights when front street is closed off you can get in for pictures

I know the birdcage is quite an iconic part of Hamilton but when it's unmanned it just looks like a very impressive stand in the middle of the roads.

Probably the most photographed attraction in Bermuda. The officer in the Birdcage is similar to the Guards at Buckingham Palace.

It's neat to see that this is where a police officer directs traffic because it's so unlike any other places I've been to.
