The institute is packed with fun and informative activities for both adults and kids. Pros: low cost ($15 per person); packed with information; interactive; shell collection; bioluminescent "ride" (for kids); on the bus line. Con: quirky location for the ticket counter (it's inside the gift shop); the bioluminescence "ride" (for adults). Info: this institute is fun and informative and rises... More

Stopped in during our visit in March 2016 (2 adults, 2 children). Bit of a walk from Hamilton center but worth the trip. It's probably a 1 - 1.5 hour visit to see everything here. The exhibit on the recovery of the silver ingots was very interesting as was the Tucker shipwreck exhibit. Do not miss the shell room as... More

A little more geared for families, I went to see the Teddy Tucker exhibit, which was great, BUT, the sea shell collection is a must to see, plan a little time to look at the shells as many are things you will not see anywhere else. Really nice staff by the way, and cute giftshop. Great for little ones.

this a very interesting museum/attraction. Lots to interest children, but lots to interest adults interested in oceanography or the environment. The new section on the environment is exceedingly well done

This is a nice visit especially on a rainy day. If you're short on time, this is a good attraction to see within an hour or less, as it is a pretty small building. The highlight for us was the large sea shell collection from around the world. Our second favorite display was the history of the diving bells and... More
