I went here in a very wet Monday. I'm not quite sure what I was expecting but for a $15 entrance fee, left feeling a little underwhelmed. Shell room was quite interesting though. Maybe I missed something but it wasn't for me.

The Americas Cup exhibit was my favourite ( particularly the virtual reality experience of being aboard the Oracle yacht). Great little museum just outside Hamilton. Exhibitions on marine exploration, underwater archaeology ( including finds from some of Bermuda's many shipwrecks), conservation, ecology and a dive simulation. Well worth a visit.

If you see nothing else in Bermuda, this should be the place. The exhibits are fascinating and very informative, especially the Americas Cup one. The virtual reality show aboard a racing yacht is INCREDIBLE, and then you find out in the rest of the exhibit how the boats do the unbelievable things they do. There are also exhibits of shells,... On arrival, we were told it would take about an hour and a half to go around - we spent three hours! As we were there out of season, there were only a couple of other visitors so we were able to try all the different activities - 'treasure' hunts to find out about local sea life, history and ship... Nice place to have lunch but the venue as an "institute" is a bit lacking. Not much of interest and the "shark cage" must be seen as a joke (repeating video of sharks coming at you while you stand in a fake "cage"). The 3D glasses are nice if they work (one of ours didn't). Mostly a place on the... More

A wonderful museum with lots of interactive exhibits. Most amazing shell collection we have ever seen. The Americas Cub exhibit has Virtual Reality and lots if video with some interactive. If you want to know how a sailboat can go 50 kits in a 25 kt wind come here!

This is not a large museum but we found some interesting areas and had a pleasant visit for a couple of hours. I never knew much about the America's Cup (to be hosted by Bermuda in 2017) but there was an interesting display in the museum. It includes goggles you put on that allows you to look around as the... I lived in Bermuda for many years and we had a family membership for BUEI. I love this place. It changes very little but it's always nice to visit and see the huge sea shell collection. As the kids grew up they noticed new things each time.

It's a nice place to go on a rainy day. We didn't eat at the restaurant there but it looked good. I would take a cab if you're staying at the Hamilton Princess. It was about a 20 min. walk.
